What a brilliant morning at our supply chain event in Swindon!

More than 200 supply chain partners, colleagues, guest speakers and local colleges representatives came together to talk all things construction.

The event explored some of the biggest priorities facing construction today - skills, quality, wellbeing, culture, behaviour and the role of digital tools in helping us deliver safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

A big thank you to our presenters and to guest speakers Kevin Harris, CEO of Constructing Excellence South West, and Rob Murray from New Pangea.

We’re delighted that Beard has retained its We Invest in People Gold status, and has also been awarded We Invest in Wellbeing Gold by Investors in People! 💛

The assessment recognised the strength of our people-focused culture and the way Beard's values of being 'Friendly, Efficient and Committed' are embedded across the business.

It also highlighted the importance we place on health and wellbeing, from our company-wide Strategy for Wellbeing to team-building activities, walking challenges, sports days and fundraising events.

Connection, collaboration and competition were on the agenda at our wellbeing day in Wrington Warren earlier this week 🌲

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, colleagues were invited to enjoy time in nature and take part in adrenaline-fuelled paintballing sessions or a relaxing woodland walk, as well as axe-throwing, archery and other games 🎯

Teams across the business have also been marking Mental Health Awareness Week in great ways 💚

From Wear it Green in Swindon and a fun sports day at Spectrum House, to a Bristol walking competition, there’s been plenty of activity. Colleagues also completed an inspiring 18 mile walk in Southampton, raising funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

Great to see everyone coming together to support mental health and wellbeing 👏

Small but mighty 💪🔬🧬

That’s the perfect way to describe our special works team’s recent refurbishment of the University of Oxford's cancer research laboratory in the Radiobiology Research Institute (RRI) building at Churchill Hospital, Headington.

While modest in scale, the project will make a real difference thanks to the important research carried out there.

“The benefits that smaller jobs can provide to the end user are huge,” said Project Manager James Tombs.

"Cancer research opens up a whole new world of information that we can all benefit from."

A fantastic effort from the team to deliver work that will have a lasting impact.

Multiple Beard projects scooped Bronze at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards 2026, in recognition of their respect for the public, the workforce, and the environment.

We’re delighted to announce that Dave Fisher has been promoted to lead Beard's Oxford office! 👷‍♂️✨

Having joined Beard in 2012, Dave will now head up our 93-strong Oxford team. Mike Hedges, company operations director, said:
