Another front door transformation completed 🔨🎨

This timber front door was given a complete refresh, changing it from the original wood finish to a beautiful exterior colour that really brings the entrance to life.

We also:
• Prepared and glossed the surrounding trims and side window frames
• Varnished the timber threshold
• Carried out all the preparation and finishing to leave everything looking fresh and tidy

A simple change, but one that makes a big difference to the overall entrance of the property.

Dining Room Refresh 🎨

A recent decorating project completed for a customer, giving this dining room a complete freshen-up while retaining the character of the original woodwork.

The work included:

• Removing existing wallpaper from the stairway wall
• Preparing and repairing previous imperfections to the walls and ceiling
• Thorough sanding and preparation throughout
• Repainting the ceiling in non-reflective white
• Johnstone’s Durable Matt applied to the walls
• Sanding and varnishing the doors and skirting boards

The combination of freshly painted walls and ceiling with the restored natural woodwork has made a big difference to the room.

Another project completed with attention to preparation and the finish.

As promised, here’s the final result… a little later than promised, sorry! 😅

What a transformation on this carport and covered outdoor area.

There was a lot of prep involved in this one – plenty of sanding, filling and getting everything ready before applying the finishing coats. The fresh white framework combined with the dark panelling has really brought the whole area back to life and given it a much cleaner, smarter finish.

We’re really pleased with how this one turned out, and hopefully Jake, our very demanding site supervisor, gives us his final approval too! 🐶😂

Another enjoyable project completed by the Square and Fair team. 👌

Just a few hours later and Stage 1 is complete.

Freshly decorated walls have completely lifted the space, giving this fantastic coffee shop a cleaner, brighter and more welcoming feel while keeping its modern character.

We’re giving this fantastic coffee shop Kofi & Co. a well-deserved refresh as Stage 1 gets underway.

One of the perks of working evenings? The cooler temperatures make decorating much more comfortable, and it means we can work around the business to help minimise disruption.

☀️ Perfect timing for this project – we’ve definitely picked the right week to be working outside!

We’re busy bringing this carport and outdoor room back to life with plenty of prep work before the transformation begins.

Jake, our site supervisor, isn’t the biggest fan of all the sanding noise… but he makes sure morale stays high by popping over for a fuss and a scratch every 30 minutes! 🐶😂

Painting & Decorating / Property Maintenance Assistant

Square and Fair Property Services is looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our team to help with an increasing workload.

This is initially a temporary position, with the opportunity for future permanent roles as the business continues to grow.

We carry out a wide range of residential refurbishment and maintenance projects across York, Tadcaster, Wetherby and the surrounding areas, including:

• Painting & Decorating
• Property Refurbishments
• General Property Maintenance & Repairs
• Bathroom Renovations
• Carpentry and finishing work

This role would suit someone who:

* Has some painting and decorating experience, or is eager to learn and build a career in the trade.
* Takes pride in producing high-quality work with excellent attention to detail.
* Is reliable, punctual and hard-working.
* Is willing to learn new skills and work across a variety of projects.
* Can work independently as well as part of a team.
* Has their own transport, although this isn’t essential for the right person depending on location.

What we offer:

* Initial temporary work with an immediate start.
* Opportunity for future permanent roles as the business grows.
* Varied work – no two days are the same.
* A friendly, supportive working environment.
* The chance to develop your skills across painting, decorating, refurbishment and property maintenance.

Day 6: Prep is nearly complete and we’re almost ready for the transformation.

Final stages now — filling, sealing, and undercoating all coming together to get the perfect base.

We’ll be finishing with farrowandball Strong White on the windows and frame, and Rectory Red on the front door — a proper classic combination.
