What a difference 8 months makes. Its great to see this willow putting on some growth since we re pollarded it back in December.
Re pollarding should be done every few years to keep the trees to a manageable size, and prevent limbs snapping out under their own weight, and becoming a hazard. A few of the limbs on this had already snapped and were left hanging in the crown creating a safety hazard. All the woodchip and logs were recycled into biomass for power stations, so nothing went to waste.
