🚧 We're Hiring – Contracts Manager 🚧

📍 Basingstoke, Hampshire

💷 £50,000–£65,000 per annum (negotiable depending on qualifications and experience)
Rocon Contractors Ltd is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our growing team.

Established in 1962, Rocon Contractors is a well-respected groundworks and civil engineering contractor, delivering projects for local authorities, schools, developers and commercial clients across Hampshire and the surrounding counties. We are proud to be a contractor on Hampshire County Council's GEN5-1 Highways Framework and Landscaping Framework for Schools, while also delivering Section 278 highway works, civil engineering and groundworks projects for district and borough councils, developers, and commercial clients.

The Role you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality. Typical project values range from £50,000 to £750,000, providing a varied workload across highways, civil engineering, and groundworks schemes. The role also involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, supporting business development opportunities, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

We're Looking For

✔ Proven experience in civil engineering, groundworks, and highway works
✔ Experience managing projects within live school environments
✔ Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts, including contract administration, programmes, Early Warning Notices (EWNs), Compensation Events (CEs), change control, risk management, and contractual compliance
✔ The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, lead site teams and maintain exceptional standards of health & safety and quality
✔ A proactive and commercially minded individual with excellent communication and client relationship skills

We have been a bit quiet with posts recently….. we have had an extremely busy period, which we are certainly are not complaining about!!

Projects have included pedestrian crossing improvements in Bishops Waltham, projects for the national trust, parking schemes for Basingstoke and Deane Borough council, school works for Hampshire County Council, concrete improvements for the Monaghan group who manage production for Waitrose and a large, challenging scheme for our long term client Lidl Uk in Wantage.

This week marked the grand opening of a path that we recently completed at the National Trusts glorious Cliveden gardens and woodlands in Taplow, nr Maidenhead.

Each slab was hand crafted specifically for this site and placed with precision by our skilled workforce. This certainly is a job that all involved can be very proud of.

We are sure that this path will be enjoyed by visitors to the site for many generations to come.

Today we completed on a scheme in Bletchingley for a long term client Star Energy. Working alongside our subcontractor Bluesword Construction, completion was achieved 3 weeks before programme, this was helped by glorious sunshine throughout the works which made for great photos this morning!

Thanks to CWM Aggregates Ltd for keeping us going, even at night!!! We are extremely busy this week, with nightworks over two different sites as well as nearing completion on several local authority schemes being carried out over the summer period.
