Common Nissan Juke Issue – Why Data Matters

We recently had a Nissan Juke 1.5 dCi in with the engine management light on, but the car was still driving normally.

No obvious symptoms — just the warning light.

Instead of just reading the fault code and guessing, we looked at the live data from the car:

📊 DPF pressure reading was stuck at 0📊 Soot level showed the filter was clean

That told us:👉 The DPF itself wasn’t blocked👉 The issue was with how the car was measuring pressure

On inspection, we found:🔧 Split DPF pressure pipes🔧 Faulty pressure sensor

💡 Why this matters:Fault codes point you in a direction — but live data shows what’s actually happening.

In this case, relying on the code alone could easily lead to replacing the DPF unnecessarily.

If your engine light is on, it’s always worth going a step further than just a code read.

Just picked up a new car this week… it’s done 27 miles.

Took it out for a drive and picked up a screw in the tyre — right on the inside, just outside the legal repair zone.

Now I’ll be honest… I don’t believe in repairing tyres.
Yes, it’s legal in certain areas, but in my opinion, once a tyre’s been compromised, that’s it. It’s not what it was designed for, no matter how good the repair is supposed to be.

So that tyre’s gone. Replaced. No question.

It’ll be sent off for recycling properly — but here’s the reality…

Somewhere down the line, tyres like this end up back in circulation. Not from my waste company, but further along the chain. They get cleaned up, dressed up, and sold as “cheap part-worns.”

They look like a bargain.
“Loads of tread left.”
“Can’t go wrong for the money.”

But what you don’t see — or aren’t told — is the history.
That tyre could’ve had a screw, a puncture, internal damage… anything.

Be careful what you’re putting on your car.
Tyres are the only thing between you and the road.

Personally? I’d never fit part-worns. Not worth the risk.

They’re cheap for a reason!
