This week has definitely tested us at Tamworth Home Installations!

🚐 Vans breaking down
⏰ Jobs not being ready to collect on time
🌧️ The weather stopping us from getting started on a lovely new conservatory…

It’s certainly been a challenging one!

But that’s small business life sometimes. We’ll get tomorrow’s work completed, enjoy a well-earned day off, reset… and then we go again! 💪

We’d like to say a massive thank you to all of our lovely customers for being so patient and understanding when things don’t quite go to plan. We know you are still waiting on survey dates, install dates and quotations and you all are not forgotten!

When you’re a small family-run business, one setback can quickly have a knock-on effect on the rest of the diary. But we never let those setbacks stop us from doing everything we can to give our customers the quality workmanship and home improvements they deserve. ❤️🏡

Despite everything, our team still managed to get plenty done! Here are just a few of the new doors we’ve installed this week, alongside lots of smaller repair jobs that we managed to squeeze in between everything else. 🔧🚪

🐾 The Supervisor Is Back!

Well, after taking a sabbatical over the summer, the temperature has finally dropped and the supervisor decided it was time to get back in the van! 😂

Back to his old bossy ways… although things have clearly changed during his time off! 🤣

5 minutes in and I had to hand him straight back to his mum! His heart just isn’t in it anymore. 😂🐶

Looks like retirement might actually be permanent for our four-legged supervisor!

🎥 SO… I’VE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT! 😅

For this beautiful project in Sutton Coldfield, I thought I’d take you along for the ride and give you a little look behind the scenes at what actually goes into transforming a property like this.

Now, I’ll be honest… talking to a camera isn’t exactly my strong point! 😂 I’m much more comfortable measuring windows, fitting doors and talking to customers than talking to my phone!

But here we go…

In this video, I run through a bit of the day-to-day schedule, the work involved and some of the finer details that go into bringing a character property like this back to life.

This was a particular favourite project of mine. ❤️

We installed beautiful Residence flush casement windows, carefully chosen to complement the original character of the property, along with a few extra touches to help keep that traditional appearance rather than making it look like a completely different house.

We also supplied and installed a composite front door, specially chosen to mimic the look of the original blue door, finished off with traditional antique black furniture.

It’s those little details that can make such a huge difference. 👌

For us, it’s never just about replacing a window or door. It’s about looking at the property as a whole, understanding what the customer wants and making sure the finished result actually belongs on the house.

We always try our hardest to give our customers exactly what they want, and this was a great example of that. 🙌

We were contacted about a wheelchair-accessible, low-threshold door for a brand-new cabin. Within just a few hours of the initial request, we were out measuring up — and by the following Friday, their new wheelchair-access-friendly UPVC door was installed and ready to use, days before the deadline she needed them for! 🚪♿️

It’s brilliant to know the customer is so happy with the result, and feedback like this makes all the hard work worthwhile. ❤️

Nothing better after a busy week of installing, quoting, surveying and keeping everything moving than switching off for the weekend and cooking up a treat for the family! 🍽️❤️

We might be busy keeping our customers’ homes looking their best, but family time is just as important to us as a family-run business.

It’s been another full-on week, so time to put the work boots away, enjoy some good food and spend some quality time with the family.

With being extra busy with our larger installations lately, Friday was all about catching up on and completing some of those all-important smaller jobs for both returning and new customers. 🔧🏡

And this is a great example of why you don’t always need to replace your entire windows.

Quite often, if your existing frames are still in good condition, replacing the glass units only can make a huge difference — and at a fraction of the cost of a complete new window installation.

Here at Tamworth Home Installations, although we take on larger window, door and home improvement projects, we’re always honest with our customers and have their best interests in mind.

If we feel your existing frames are still perfectly serviceable, we’ll tell you! There’s no point spending money on something you don’t actually need.

Glass replacement can:
✅ Transform the appearance of tired or failed glass
✅ Help improve thermal performance
✅ Improve privacy with upgraded obscure glass
✅ Give you the option of upgraded glass specifications
✅ Cost considerably less than replacing the complete window

We can also supply upgraded glass options to achieve performance specifications similar to those available with a completely new installation, depending on the existing frame and requirements.

The photos show a great example of the difference replacing the glass alone can make. 👌

🏡 Another Project Complete! 🔨✨

After completing the windows, garage door and cladding works, we’ve now returned to finish the final touches for our lovely repeat customers here in Tamworth.

The old, tired roofline has now been completely transformed with fresh new fascia boards and new guttering, giving the property a fantastic fresh finish. 👌

What a transformation to finish off what has been a great project from start to finish!
