A door recoat for good clients near Bishopsteignton. Scrape and sand back to bare oak. Wipe down with white spirit. Let dry then start applying 3 coats of satin finish yacht varnish. 24hrs between coats. Really pleased with the results. The medullary rays really stand out.

Refurbishing and servicing some sash windows in Teignmouth. Found a bit of history, a Great Western Railway goods label wrapped around a sash weight. If you look carefully you can see the end of western and beginning of railway. Stuck on by a railway worker to show the product destination.

I have had the pleasure of replacing this balustrade. I had previously done repairs pre covid , they were still ok but the original soft wood was failing. However the new owners wanted a complete like for like replacement using Sapele hardwood. I used the three stage Dulux weathershield finish on it. The views are amazing. Was hot though.

After a few challenging weeks at Lugehay house I am very pleased with the results. All three 2nd floor windows worked on to bring them back to as close to original condition, but with some modern draught proof upgrades . The client will topcoat them .... but doesn't like heights 🤭

A new client contacted me about their old door which they wanted to restore. It had been stripped a few years before and looked a bit Leopard like. I fully sanded it back and spent a long time fine filling and sanding. Pieces needed to be machined to get the door to fit properly in the frame. The client had some really smart stained glass units to fit and some lovely door furniture. Door was primed and 2x undercoated ready for a topcoat. Also I rebated draught proofing around the door.
