What does a brickwork contractor actually do? 🤔

We can't speak for every brickwork contractor, but for us, it means a lot more than simply laying bricks.

At Prestige Brickwork, we're responsible for delivering high-quality brickwork, blockwork and stonework packages that help bring construction projects to life. From housing developments and commercial buildings to education, health and retail projects, our role is to ensure every element of the masonry work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

It also means working closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, site teams and project managers to keep projects moving forward. Behind every wall, façade and structure is a team committed to quality workmanship, attention to detail, health and safety, and delivering on time and on budget.

Great to see our bricklaying apprentice, Hayden, featured in the Shropshire Star following Telford College’s first-ever Community Day.

Hayden is coming towards the end of his apprenticeship with Prestige Brickwork, and we couldn’t be prouder of the progress he has made throughout his training. It's fantastic to see him representing both the college and the construction industry so positively.

We’re looking forward to seeing Hayden continue to develop his skills and progress his career with us on site in the years ahead.

A story worth watching for anyone involved in construction, development or housebuilding.

The UK construction industry has warned that proposed changes to steel import tariffs could lead to material shortages, increased costs and delays to housing and infrastructure projects.

For the construction sector, this highlights a challenge many businesses are already familiar with: balancing rising material costs with the need to deliver projects on time and on budget. If steel prices continue to rise and supply becomes more restricted, the impact could be felt across the entire supply chain, from developers and contractors through to end clients.

Recently, some of the Prestige Brickwork team visited the NHBC Training Hub in Lichfield, where we met with Leigh to discuss all things apprenticeships and skills development within the construction industry.

The Lichfield hub is an excellent, purpose-built facility that gives apprentices hands-on experience in bricklaying, groundwork and carpentry within an environment that closely reflects real building sites and day-to-day site expectations.

Working alongside Tara Group, we already have an apprentice training at the facility who is progressing really well, fantastic to see and a real credit to everyone involved.

It’s great to see continued investment being made into the future of the construction industry, and we look forward to continuing to work with Leigh and the team at NHBC.

Another amazing surprise from the team at Hudson 🙌

They spoiled us with a lovely treat box before, and somehow they’ve managed to top it again! Yorkshire tea, flapjacks, mugs and a thoughtful personalised touch too, massively appreciated by everyone at Prestige.

We’re really pleased to announce that Prestige Brickwork has secured the masonry package for the Pool House Road development in Wombourne with Lovell Homes. 🧱

This development will deliver much-needed new homes for the local area, supporting the continued growth of the community and demand for quality housing.

We’re proud to be working alongside Lovell once again, continuing a strong working relationship built across a number of successful residential schemes over the years. Working with trusted partners allows us to maintain high standards throughout every stage of the build, and we’re looking forward to getting started on site and seeing the project take shape.

It’s been a busy month across Prestige, with plenty of progress on site, new projects secured, and milestones reached along the way.

This month, we’ve celebrated the completion of masonry works on Phase 2 of the Port Loop development in Birmingham, while also securing the next phase alongside Keon Homes Limited to continue delivering much-needed affordable housing in the area.

We’ve also secured new combined scaffold and brickwork packages, including the Cedars Drive development with Living Space and another major affordable housing scheme on Long Nuke Road for Bromford. It’s been fantastic to see our divisions continuing to work together across multiple projects.

Alongside this, progress continues at Five Oaks in Shrewsbury with Anwyl Homes, where completed plots are helping bring the development to life.

A huge thank you to all of our teams for their hard work, commitment, and professionalism throughout another successful month. We’re looking forward to carrying that momentum into June.

Prestige was founded in 2012 as a brickwork contractor in Telford, delivering masonry packages across the West Midlands.

Since then, we’ve steadily grown, building our reputation on reliable work, strong relationships, and a straightforward approach to getting the job done properly.

Brickwork is still at the core of what we do, but we’ve expanded along the way. Our jetwashing division supports projects on site, and more recently we’ve introduced Prestige Scaffold, which has quickly become a busy and valued part of the business. It’s been a natural progression, bringing more services together, improving coordination, and offering more to our clients.

We’re enjoying the journey so far and looking forward to seeing where it takes us next.
