Aston Villa FC boilers running at outside temperature of 0degrees and the entire training ground is a toasty 20degrees from a 13% running capacity… about the same as a normal combi in a normal house when having a shower… that’s insane!!!

On paper, nothing changed:
➡️ Two 250kW boilers out
➡️ Two new 250kW boilers in

But how they actually run now is a completely different story.

The old boilers were sitting there burning around 120kW just to keep the place comfortable.
The new setup? The screen is showing 13% load on a 250kW boiler — that’s 32.5kW — and the training ground is warmer and more stable than it ever was before. Reaching temperature quicker and maintaining that temperature throughout the entire day.

To put that into perspective:
32.5kW is roughly what you’d expect from a good three-bedroom house combi boiler…
Yet here it is comfortably heating a Premier League football club’s training facility. 🤯

The boilers are now set up in a proper cascade / duty rotation, meaning:
• Only one boiler runs at a time
• They automatically rotate as lead
• No more both boilers firing flat out together

That results in:
✅ Far better efficiency
✅ Reduced wear and tear
✅ Smoother, more consistent temperatures

Helping Local Pensioners Stay Warm This Winter:

This week I plan on a slightly more leisurely work pattern having had several weeks of quite hard work… so thought I could try and give a little back to a town that’s been good to me. Please share this if you can and hopefully we reach the right people…

With the recent changes to the winter fuel allowance, I know many local pensioners are struggling to stay warm. This week, I’d like to do something to help.

I’m offering three slots this week to visit local pensioners who’ve lost their winter fuel allowance to check their boilers and heating systems. I’ll make sure everything is running efficiently and safely so they can stay as warm as possible during these cold months.

This is a completely free service—there’s no cost, no obligation, and absolutely no intention of taking money. I’m simply giving up a few lunch hours to help those who’ve been affected by the harsh decisions of this government.

If you, or someone you know, could benefit from this, please send me a message. Let’s keep our community warm this winter. All i ask is that the people who take me up on the offer genuinely could do with a hand.

Feel free to share the word.

I’ll try and do a few more in the coming weeks and am hoping other lads from different companies follow suit.

I wont be able to respond to every single message but will do what I can to help via remote advice/phone calls if needed too.

I’m at the charity, STAY Telford, today installing a boiler and working in partnership with Telford’s best decorator, the one and only Channy (07354497059) He’s been saying he needs a bit of heat to help with his paint, so I’m all too happy to oblige—anything to keep the man warm and the masterpieces flowing!

Part way through the install… it’s very cold in here.

After a bit of a wait for a BMS tech (electricians, we love you really!), our latest boiler installs at Champions League side Aston Villa are officially up and running - serving concourse areas and some of the finest dining in the whole of Birmingham.

In the photo, you’ve got a slightly bewildered but keen apprentice who was hoping it was a joke when I asked him to lift a 70kg boiler (it was…) alongside yours truly, tackling some ‘big boy’ pipework. No stress though—just another day of fun for the Combicert crew!

Now it’s onto the next one as we gear up for a busy (and chilly!) winter ahead. Let’s do this!
