WASPS! It’s that time of year again.

We love wasps, bumble bees and honey bees alike.

Squirrel trapping completed for a client. These are very destructive creatures and need to be removed before proofing is completed. These are some of the methods we use. Doc 200 and WCS tube traps to ensure they’re dispatched in a humane manner.

We’ve caught 6 from this property in total. Damage of external timbers will be proofed to ensure this doesn’t occur again. A 360 degree approach.

We had the pleasure of cleaning up after nearly a decade of feral pigeon fouling under these panels.

The pigeons, over time, had compromised the wiring causing the solar panels to arc onto the roof below - this caused significant leaks and damage to the internal building.

This could’ve been avoided if the panels were properly proofed in the first instance. Suffice to say, the old attempt of solar proofing has now been removed; this was completely ineffective, causing harm and unnecessary suffering to the birds too.

About 40 bags of fouling were removed. Operating under GL41 we got the job done.

As professional pest controllers, we must strive to ensure what we do is legal, effective, and responsible. We set the standard, and I’m happy on this occasion we were part of the solution! 😄

⚠️ Throwback to this absolute monster of a wasp nest treated a couple of seasons ago! Wasps are so fascinating, natures architects - no two nests are ever the same. It’s what keeps my job extremely interesting.

Wasps will soon be making their presence known as their numbers naturally increase. Queens are/have started their primary nests, the very beginnings of the eventual colony.

Wasps of course have a huge benefit to the eco system, so we only tend to destroy those that pose a direct risk to public heath and business.

It’s important to recognise the signs of having a wasp nest, thus mitigating the risk of being stung and the nest becoming more active as time goes on. If you’re unsure, then give Raptor a call.

Woodworm curative/preventative treatment within an old thatched cottage.

This was a particularly difficult treatment due to the size of the loft, nature of building, and the intricacies of the wood needing treatment. The loft has rarely been entered so as you can imagine, the debris was extensive.

Wood prepared by removing all dust and debris prior to insecticide application, thus ensuring maximum absorption.

Evidence of historic and fresh activity alike.

Feral pigeon proofing: 28m of solar panels proofed with another great product from .

Couldn’t be happier with their new JAWS 🦈 solar spike range.

No glue, no faff, simple. Click in place and go.

The ease of installing the spike on either the 30mm/35mm clips made the job extremely efficient and most important of all, safe. Ours were 35mm in this case.

We’ll certainly be using these in the future too!
