Part way through our latest project.
We started earlier in the year removing approx 70/80 tonnes to level an area, building sleeper retaining walls and prepping for the concrete slabs.
After receiving the details of the ex demonstration garden room due to be built we were asked to cost up a bespoke similar design / layout and given the go ahead.
We’re now well underway on the build.

We’ve just completed our latest build of this retaining wall in High Wycombe.
The scope was to regain a further 2.5-3m of garden back from the slope to extend the garden.
The wall is 1.75m - 2.25m in height and around 30m overall.
Steels sunk in 1.8m of concrete every 1.3m.
Drainage at the base of the wall to release water build up and damp proofed behind befit backfill.
200+ tonnes shifted in this one in muck away and materials.

Been a little while since the last post but back to Kintbury to carry on from the kitchen / bathroom project.
We were asked to decorate the hall, entrance lobby, kitchen diner, boot room with a media wall.

I’m not into slapping on paint and if you’re going to go a job I think do it properly and as near to perfect that’s achievable.
We sanded / filled and sanded again every square inch on ceilings and walls to remove all the little nicks / cracks / holes / previous poorly filled areas to make it look like new walls.
All door frames architraves and skirting rubbed back to give that new finish.
3 coats on all surfaces and always looking for little defects as we go.
Everything taped and cleaned as we go.
All light fittings / sockets and switches removed and cleaned from old paint.
Skirting’s / kitchen cupboards masking taped for that perfect clean line.
Skirtings changed to grey kickboard to match the kitchen.
All the white cupboard carcass’s painted grey to match the door fronts.
Mdf full height panelling in the entrance lobby.

On the large 6m wall we built a full height media wall.
Studwork built out to allow hidden piperwork for new radiators either end and all cabling for lighting and sockets to be hidden.
Fully insulated floor to ceiling to help retain rhe heat more on the winter.
Finished in walnut veneer slatted panels with a tv and fire built in.
The window painted black with a black limestone sill.
Top and bottom we built a black plinth to conceal the LED lighting.
A few other light fittings changed / new door thresholds / painting the door black.

Certainly kept us dry with all the rain we’ve had.

Our latest project - This maybe just a small 16m fence but to our client it was closure on years and years of battles over a boundary.

2m high Black palisade fencing with additional pales drilled and fixed to give more privacy.

We have been discussing this for several months and the issue has been going on for years.
Just a small fraction of what’s happened over the years.
Previous hedging was cut and killed off then several fences built and purposely damaged by the neighbour.
Buildings built so close and high overlooking our clients property then painted bright red.
Big signs painted with boundary measurements on.
They even had video evidence of a handsaw cutting through the fence but no faces were visible so no proof as to who was damaging the fences.
We discussed options of types of fencing and steel palisade seemed to be the best option. This would be very loud to cut with some visibility if it were to be damaged again.
We removed the old fence and had a gps surveyor ready on site using the cottage which was built around 1640 to pinpoint the exact boundary line. After several hours of discussions we had an agreed boundary line.
Finally our clients could regain land taken and have some closure on this issue.
