A brilliant evening at the Yorkshire Choice Awards 2026, held at The Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road. 🏆

Our team had the pleasure of attending as nominees in three categories: Independent Business of the Year, Charitable Business of the Year, and Yorkshire Entrepreneur of the Year, where our Managing Director, Michael Kiddle, was one of just four finalists.

To receive recognition across multiple categories alongside so many outstanding businesses and individuals from across Yorkshire was a real honour. Moments like these remind us how far we've come and make every challenge, achievement, and milestone along the way worthwhile. We are incredibly proud of Michael and the entire team behind everything we have accomplished together.

The evening also highlighted the incredible work of Candlelighters at The Square, the event's chosen charity, which supports children and families across Yorkshire affected by childhood cancer. We arrived knowing very little about their work and left genuinely inspired by the impact they make every day.

Great food, great company, and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the evening.

If an engineer can't reach a socket, it can't be tested.

Cluttered storage rooms, blocked sockets, leads buried behind boxes. They're some of the most common reasons PAT testing gets flagged as incomplete on a site visit.

A clear access point is the smallest thing you can do to make sure your testing is actually telling you what you need to know.

Before your next visit, walk the building and check what's hiding behind the clutter.

A distribution board can look clean, labelled, and well-maintained on the outside, and still hide a loose connection, a discoloured terminal, or early signs of heat damage on a single circuit.

That's exactly why fixed wire testing (EICR) exists. It's a structured look at the parts of your electrical installation you can't see from the front cover. Carried out by qualified engineers, on a defined cycle, with everything logged and reported.

Without it, the first sign of a fault is usually the one nobody wanted to find.
