What a weekend at Danby Wiske Beer Festival!
Every year we’re proud to sponsor at this brilliant event - and this year didn’t disappoint. Some of the CGE team headed down to soak up the live music, sample a few beers, and enjoy the amazing community spirit that makes this festival so special.

We’re always blown away by the passion of the organisers and the way the whole village comes together.

This year our sponsored beer was fittingly named Pace Setter - a perfect tribute to our very own Jamie, who sadly couldn’t make it this year as he was down in London running the marathon (he sure sampled a beer or two after completing that!)

We know, we know… it’s been a while since we last posted - but it’s for good reason! It’s been a very busy start to Spring, with some amazing renewable projects keeping us on our toes 🏃‍♂️

Here’s a recent one we’re really proud of: a full air source heat pump installation in Sessay, featuring an 11kw system, 200L cylinder, and central heating re-pipe 🌱

This lovely home was ready for a heating upgrade, and our client wanted something not only future-proof, but sustainable too. By switching from a traditional system to an air source heat pump, they’ll now enjoy reliable heating, lower emissions, and better energy efficiency all year round - especially important with energy bills being what they are!

We’ve recently been in Middlesmoor, helping homeowners swap out an old, inefficient electric boiler for a brand-new air source heat pump - a smart move that’s becoming more and more popular in this Yorkshire Dales conservation area. 🌿🏡

Why? Because air source heat pumps (ASHPs) are up to 3-4 times more efficient than electric boilers! Instead of just converting electricity into heat, they pull warmth from the air, making homes warmer, greener, and cheaper to run. Less energy wasted, lower bills, and a big win for sustainability.

This homeowner was already on the renewable energy journey with solar panels on their holiday home, so we’ve also upgraded their system with a new inverter and WiFi controls, giving them full visibility and control over their energy use.
