🔨That's not to say that torch-on doesn't do a great job, because generally it is more than adequate for the requirements of the majority of flat roofs.

🔨There are, however some attributes of fibreglass that might mean it's better suited to some roofs, depending on the primary function of that space, and of course the preferences of our customers, so we've put the key aspects of fibreglass roofing above, in case you're interested in why fibreglass is more expensive, and why it might be better suited at times.

Full roof replacement completed, opting for a change to modern, flat grey tiles - a very popular style at the moment.

On this job, the previous roofers had opted to use flashband to seal the top of the tiles.

You can clearly see the cracks and breaks in the left-hand pictures - these gaps could easily have lead to leaks inside the property, and further structural damage down the line if left uncorrected.

At Maghull Roofing, we would use flashband as a temporary repair on a small area - not as a standard finish, as it deteriorates rapidly in comparison to tougher materials.

We used new, code 4 lead to fix the poor job that had been done previously. Lead is much longer-lasting and hardy - no sneaky leaks here.🫡
