Here are a couple of recent fencing projects we have completed. In one instance, we had to remove a 2-meter-wide hedgerow entirely, and fortunately, we were able to use an excavator to assist with digging out the roots. We source most, if not all, of our materials from Crestala Fencing, located in Langton Green.

One client sought to create additional space to facilitate further construction work on their property. Another client opted for panel fencing to enhance privacy from a neighboring property. Ironically both these projects were located in Horsemonden.

For this project, the client wished to create a larger parking area. We achieved this by removing the existing hedge and excavating the old, unused front lawn. The area was finished with a blend of silver and red 20mm granite chippings to complement the existing driveway. The project was completed with a border of silver granite setts, providing a neat and defined edge.

This was a delightful summer project completed last year. We began by removing the entire old garden, a challenging task made more difficult by having to work through the client’s property. Nearly 10 tonnes of material were removed, with an additional 8 tonnes brought in, making it a demanding yet achievable project. During the excavation, we uncovered a completely failed drainage system, necessitating the installation of a new soakaway and a modern ACO channel drain system.

The land was excavated by approximately one meter to create additional patio space, and the old steps were entirely redesigned to allow for a larger, more usable lawn area. Oak sleepers were installed to retain the soil, significantly transforming the garden’s appearance. A new closeboard fence was also erected to provide greater privacy.

To complete the project, a Raj Indian sandstone patio was laid using four standard patio slab sizes. The entire area is now more functional and inviting, allowing the client to enjoy more sociable days and evenings in their garden.

We completed a similar project last year utilizing large lengths of treated timber measuring 5.4 meters by 8 inches by 2 inches. The structure was supported by a substantial house wall plate and four sturdy posts measuring 5 inches by 5 inches to adequately bear the considerable weight. The design was intended to achieve a pergola effect while functioning as a veranda. The roof consists of 12mm polycarbonate panels to provide protection from rain, with all rainwater effectively connected to the drainage system. The total area is around 35m2 and is now a well utilised space.

☀️ A Warm Throwback: Crafting Perfection in Tunbridge Wells
As the days get chillier, let's take a moment to look back at one of our stunning projects completed at the very end of summer, a project we simply forgot to showcase until now!

We transformed a charming Tunbridge Wells bungalow, designing and building a substantial, wrap-around patio that epitomises outdoor luxury. The heart of this space is the immaculate light grey Porcelain tiling, chosen for its sleek, contemporary finish and superb durability. Every tile was laid with an obsessive attention to detail, creating a flawless surface that beckons you to step out and relax.

The True Mark of Craftsmanship
The attention to perfection is evident in every detail. This expansive patio is completely framed by a substantial retaining wall, which we meticulously clad in natural graphite grey split stone. The contrast between the serene light grey patio and the dramatic deep grey walling creates a sophisticated, multi-layered look.

Crucially, the walling is finished with a matching coping stone, a precise touch that ties the entire scheme together perfectly.

Extra time and care was needed to create a unique curved step. This required expert skill, with all of the Porcelain tiles precision cut to form a stunning, beautiful curve. The edges were then finished with a hand-bullnose polish, creating a smooth, elegant, and safe transition. This isn't just a patio; it's an outdoor extension of the home, built with a focus on perfection and a finish that will last for decades.

We have transformed the original driveway and porch, previously a standard concrete base with a 1960s design, into a modern, aesthetically pleasing space with a softer, more appealing appearance. The redesign has increased parking capacity and reduced the steepness of the driveway, enhancing safety and functionality. A retaining wall constructed with bricks carefully selected to closely match the home complements the overall look. The porch has been widened to provide greater usability and improved access to the property. Additionally, a new pathway now connects the front and side paths, offering more convenient access to the rear garden.

Another stunning example of natural Indian sandstone craftsmanship! Earlier this summer, we transformed a project in Tonbridge with the beautiful Raj colour of Indian sandstone, giving the space a fresh, elegant facelift. By cleverly utilizing the existing concrete base and incorporating recessed manhole covers, we created a seamless look that perfectly unites the patio and steps. The result is a harmonious outdoor space that flows effortlessly and will bring joy and comfort to the clients for many summers ahead. It’s always rewarding to see how thoughtful design and quality materials can truly elevate a home’s outdoor living experience.

In December, we completed phase 1 of this lovely project in Tonbridge, and now we’re excited to have finished the final phase. Once again, we used grey Indian sandstone project packs, which have helped create a clean, stylish, and timeless finish. It’s been a rewarding journey seeing the project come together, and we’re proud of the quality and consistency achieved throughout.
