Another happy customer this week.

Customer wanted a roof deck. Barry fabricated Iroko curved supports to the roof profile with a hexagrip platform.

David had this to say about the work:

"Please pass on my sincere gratitude to Barry for his exceptional craftsmanship. The work he produced on the roof is truly impressive and far exceeds my expectations. In addition to his skill as an artisan, he was a pleasure to work with. Furthermore, I found your entire staff to be professional and polite."

Thank you David, let's just hope for some warm sunshine now so that you can fully enjoy your new roof deck! 🌞🌞

Congratulations to Nathan on completing his BMET electrical course, big welcome to Sean who joined the team almost 3 months ago now (where did that go!) very much here to stay with the other 5 on the shop floor supported by Suzanne and I in the office.
Sorry no festive pictures but watch this space in 2026 for updates our biggest restoration project yet!!

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all our customers and friends, past present and future.

And in the other dock we are working to fit out a boat that was started 14 years or so ago, rushed towards the end but never finished. Now with a new owner its back to basics, find the well done buts and go again. Plus repair the paintwork which doesn't appear to have been touched since the original build.

So a beautiful sunny day, if cold around the edges. Time to share our latest project, likely in many ways to be the most complex one we have done to date.
Meet MB Beech, one of the surviving Severners. Sister boat to Elm, Fir, Pine, Alder and Willow, all registered in February 1935. Oak and Ash very similar registered in August 1934.
Plan is to repair original sides, replate the bottom, converted from Elm to steel in mid 1960s, stretch back near to original length and then get a cabin on it.
