A little update ….
I’ve been flat out with a mix of EICR’s, rewires, fault finding, testing, new installs and EV chargers.

Today was a good one — installing a new SWA/concentric supply over to an office container building to get power to an office, with plenty of hard graft involved from start to finish. Nice tidy job and another happy customer.

Big respect to Josh Green as well. He’s helped me out on a few jobs recently. He took a chance on changing direction, stepped away from a long-term job and has been putting the effort into learning the trade and getting stuck in on site. Fair play to anyone willing to work hard and better themselves

Been a bit quiet on here lately — not through lack of work, just been flat out

Lately I’ve been busy with a real mix of jobs including:• EICRs for landlords and homeowners• Outdoor sockets & lighting ready for the better weather• Full and partial house rewires

This week I’ve also passed my EV charger course, so I’m now able to fully install and certify car chargers — if you’ve been thinking about getting one, feel free to get in touch.

Also added a couple of new badges to the van (just needs a clean now… typical!) 😅

Big milestone for me today

Just over a month into trading, and Cruse Electrical Ltd is now officially a NICEIC Approved Contractor.

For anyone who’s not sure what that means — NICEIC are one of the main organisations in the UK that assess electricians to make sure work is being carried out safely and to the correct standards.

To get approved, they check your installations, testing, and how you carry out your work — so it’s not something just handed out.

I’m also registered under the Domestic Installer Scheme and approved to carry out Electrical Safety Checks (EICRs) for rental properties.

👉 What this means for you:
✔ Work carried out safely and to current regulations
✔ Fully certified and compliant
✔ I can notify building control where required
✔ Ideal for homeowners and landlords

Today’s office… not quite what I had in mind 😅🕳️

Down in a hole sorting out an underground cable repair — not the usual desk job, but I get it done

Resin joints going in to get this supply safely back up and running. Proper job.

Rain, mud, tight spaces… all part of the fun 😂

Workshop installation completed earlier this week.

This job involved running a 60 m supply to a new workshop, followed by installing LED lighting, sockets, a FuseBox consumer unit and an external security light.

The customer now has a bright, safe workspace ready for tools and equipment.

It was also great to finish my first full-time week running Cruse Electrical Ltd — and to start the new week back on the tools with Team Cruse, with my brother giving me a hand again.

First proper week trading as Cruse Electrical Ltd and really pleased with how this recent lighting install turned out.

Feature wall lights installed across the exposed beam along with upgraded switching and socket accessories. Warm LED finish and a clean, tidy result throughout.

Lighting makes a huge difference to a space and this one came together really nicely.

Great to be out installing these stunning designer pendant lights recently — really transforms the space and creates a warm feature lighting effect.

Always nice working with lighting from local Cornish designer Tom Raffield — fantastic craftsmanship and quality.

It was team Cruse this morning, my little brother was kind enough to give me a hand fixing a faulty light issue in a commercial garage. We replaced the lights with some water tight led batons and got the garage operational again.
