Day 364 of the Championships.
(LONG POST INCOMING)
Lets get the negatives out the way first (and there's plenty, well documented already but I'll only list a handful)
I'm not normally one to moan about the actual playing conditions as we all play in the same but what has been witnessed here this week is nothing short of mind boggling for a World Championships
* Tables bouncing when anyone walks near them
* Balls shaking on the table
* Balls stop then move to a different position even after they've stopped previously, mostly leaving u without a shot 😁
* Temperature 🔥 in the 🎪🤡 tent
* Wait times for buses to and from your matches, ready for matches sometimes an hour before just to try and navigate getting to your match on time (although the bus ride themselves were decent and good crack)
* The Food and drinks scenario at the venue (wristbands) promised before we even arrived here it would be sorted, yet here we are, home tomorrow and still waiting (🤣must be having a meeting about it 🤣)
* Cemented by comments from players from other countries how nice and chilled the actual venue hotel was 😬🤣

On to the reason we came to the absolutely beautiful country of Morocco in the first place
Let's start with the first 🏆up for grabs

8-3 win v Australia 🇦🇺
4 solid wins saw us (I'm told) achieve something never been done before by a Scotland Men's team.
Lift a WORLD TEAM TITLE 🏴🎱🏆
* To Captain the team out there.
* Have a front row seat to watch the lads do the business when it mattered.
* Play on the stream tables for all to see back home
* Play on the 15 second shot clock ⏰️ and really enjoy it (that's hunners o time per shot btw 🤭)
* To be the Lucky one to be at the table to pot the Winning 🎱
* Finally, To Captain and lift that trophy 🏆 with the lads 😭

Another decent showing from myself and partner Andrew Gray losing out in the Semi finals to eventual Runners up Dylan & Callum, 2 Absolutely world class players and Top gents as well 👏
We won 5 matches & v the strength of opponents out here that's no mean feat.

Singles and Masters
Didn't happen for me this year for whatever reason but I'd have happily traded that for what happened above had I been offered it before before we travelled out here.
Good runs from the lads though so again, should be very proud.

Team Event
Didn't go our way from the start really and there wasn't a match over the whole group stage where we buzzed and all.played well at the same time.
Finished with 7 wins from 16 games and 10th in the table 😪
