โ ๏ธBOGUS ALERTโ ๏ธ
We've had a report of bogus callers falsely claiming to need to check water pressure due to burst pipes.
They are targeting vulnerable people.
Scottish Water say "Anyone calling from Scottish Water, either an employee or a contractor working on our behalf in your area, will always carry an photo identification (ID) card.
"This may be either a Scottish Water ID card, or they may have an ID card for the contractor. They will usually drive vehicles clearly marked with our logo.
"Scottish Water employees or any contractor working for us, will never ask for, nor accept, any money from you at your home."
If you'd like to report bogus crime or suspicious behaviour, please call up on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
Don't be afraid to say "No, thank you" and do not feel pressured to giving money to a doorstep caller.
Please share for awareness, you could prevent someone becoming a victim. Thank you
