This was an absolute pleasure for us and really hits home.
For the last week we have been working hard at a local school who approached us with a dream. To turn a large patch of scrubland in the playground into a safe area with "buddy benches". When we see kids running and screaming around thw playground its easy to forget that even kids get lonely or overwhelmed at times.
The buddy benches give the little ones a place amidst the chaos to sit quietly. Or as a silent sign to others that says "i'm lonely" or "i feel left out". Other children are encouraged to sit with and include children sitting alone.
As a father to 5, this really hits home and I cant say how grateful I am to have been a part of this project. Hopefully we can make a difference to a young persons experience of school.
