As a preferred contractor for the NHS, we are working with businesses throughout East Anglia, offering 5% of any total contract value, back into an NHS donation fund.

To make this commercially appealing for your business, we pledge to reduce your current service contract by an additional 10%, with no dispute.

A simple way, to give back through your fire and security service contracts.

Please contact us to discuss further.

'Halo for the NHS'

Welcoming all businesses to Halo Corp - Fire and Security Specialists based in Cambridgeshire.

Halo have recently launched an exciting project - 'Halo for the NHS'.

We are working with local businesses as their fire and security service provider, with a view to giving back a percentage of these contracts, into an NHS charitable donation fund.

Halo offer a wealth of experience with servicing/maintenance, installations and commissioning of fire alarm systems, intruder systems, access control systems and CCTV.

The reason for this campaign...

Halo perform an abundance of work for various NHS sites throughout the UK; hospitals, care homes and retirement homes. Over the years, we have been lucky to develop a truly exclusive relationship with our NHS.

We experience first hand, the tireless work our doctors and nurses are performing daily. With increasing pressures being put on the NHS right now, we’ve been eagerly trying to consider ways we as a business can give back to the NHS.

This project will allow for us give back 5% of every service contract into an NHS charitable donation fund. As this campaign progresses and traction increases throughout the UK, we aim to increase that percentage.

To begin with, we have launched this campaign by focusing on East Anglia and more local businesses, hence this campaign being advertised specifically on this networking group.

I have attached a few links below to our website which will provide you with a bit more detail of our vision.

Our job is to protect businesses, their staff and customers or in the case of the NHS, patients. If along the way, we can make a difference and utilize this mechanism to give back to our NHS, then we're doing a bit extra to support this revered institution... and we hope you can be a part of it.

To learn more, message us and we will happily arrange a call or make a visit to discuss your fire and security set-up and requirements.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

We hope to hear from you.

Introducing "Halo for the Vulnerable"

Fancy helping out a loved one this Winter...?

We have some more exciting news for you.

Halo are offering free installations of updated smoke, co2 and heat detectors to 20 homes this Winter as per the link below.

https://halo-corp.co.uk/halo-for-the-vulnerable/

What has inspired this?

Halo carry out a substantial amount of work at hospitals, retirement homes and care homes. We regularly find ourselves at some of the finest care facilities for the elderly and vulnerable. We witness first hand, the wonderful work that goes on and we've built some great relationships with residents at such facilities...

But not all families can afford to place their loved ones in care homes. These facilities can often be too costly and not financially viable. For every person who can afford it, there is a vulnerable person who can't and they can sadly find themselves at home, often alone.

This is when basic safety measures can sadly be neglected, which can often leave the vulnerable in unknowing danger.

All it takes for accidents to occur, is a failing smoke detector where the battery needs replacing or the detector is damaged or at the end of it's lifespan.

So take advantage of our offering today. Simply, like, tag or share this post or PM us about you or a vulnerable loved one who you wish to give back to, and you will be placed into a draw where you will be considered for this offering.

Thanks for reading and as always, Stay Safe.

Watch this space!

Next week, we will be launching our new giving back campaign - 'Halo for the Vulnerable'.

This project has been setup to give back to the people. We are offering free installations of CO2, heat and smoke detectors for you or a vulnerable loved one this Winter. We will go into more details on this next week.

In line with this project, we want to reach as many readers as possible, to help them understand the importance of regularly checking these detectors are working efficiently.

We recommend checking your smoke alarms, heat alarms and CO2 alarms once a week. Depending on the brand, you may need to press the test button for up to 20 seconds until the alarm sounds. Testing your alarms like this is a great form of maintenance, and it’s also worth cleaning off the dust and grease that can build on them.

Smoke, heat and CO2 alarms should be replaced after the expiry date found on the back or side of the unit. Don’t ignore this date because if the components fail, the alarm could make the right sound when tested but fail to react to smoke, heat or CO gas in the property.

We recommend homeowners put a smoke alarm on each storey of a multiple storey building, minimum.

Heat alarms should be fitted in kitchens, where smoke alarms aren’t viable. These should be placed at least a metre from the oven, otherwise they could be prone to false alarms when you’re cooking.

Place CO alarms no further than three metres from any fixed gas-burning appliance. CO is heavier than smoke, so these detectors should be placed near your gas boiler, close to your kitchen stove, and in the same room as your gas fire.

Continuous beeping is a telltale sign of a fault with an alarm, but don’t assume this is the case. If there’s no problem and the alarm keeps going off, then you’ll have to replace the battery or the unit itself.

A bit of basic but potentially life saving advice which will roll into next weeks launch of 'Halo for the Vulnerable'

Keep your eyes peeled folks and as always, Stay Safe.

Halo everyone,

Keeping our pledge to educate and inform, we've written a piece on 'Grenfell and the Waking Watch Relief Fund' or 'WWRF'.

Many UK residents are unaware that in May of this year, the WWRF saw additional government funding. On top of that, criteria for applicants for a Waking Watch have been loosened.

Our aim is to spread some awareness.

Most of you will remember that fateful day on June 14, 2017. The Grenfell Tower disaster was caused by an electrical fault in a refrigerator, causing a small fire which spread rapidly due to combustible ACM cladding and external insulation. It led to changes in regulations for any building within the UK where ACM cladding was used as part of it's construction.

A Waking Watch is required when the presence of dangerous cladding or fire safety issues changes the evacuation policy of a building from 'stay put' to 'simultaneous evacuation'. This change requires fire marshals to patrol the building 24 hours a day looking for signs of fire. The charge for a Waking Watch falls upon leasehold residents within specific buildings. However, after Grenfell, it became mandatory that a Waking Watch supervise all buildings with ACM cladded construction.

If you would like to understand more about 'The Waking Watch Relief Fund' then please take a read of our blog on the link below.

If we can help raise an ounce of awareness and relieve just one person of increasing financial pressures, then this would have been worth it.

Feel free to share and and as always - Stay Safe!!

Good day readers,

We're now sharing a piece on a topic which displays a clear and present danger in the world we live in today and in the future.

Temperatures are beginning to soar throughout the globe. In July of 2022, the UK recorded it's highest recorded daily temperature exceeding 40*C. The previous record was 38*C set as recently as 2019. This year, the UK hasn't necessarily suffered extreme heatwaves in the same way other parts of the planet have, though we have still experienced the hottest June on record.

Australia, Africa, Central and Southern Europe and South, Central and Northern America have seen such extreme heat in 2023. It has comfortably been the planets hottest year since records began and it's been suggested by scientists to be the hottest year in the last 120,000. As a consequence, this heat has led to a continued period of wildfires throughout the globe, causing severe disruption in our lives.

Fire services and engineers are on the front line, trying to prevent issues which come with extreme heat. Heatwaves are particularly deadly in places like the UK and parts of Northern Europe where extreme heat is rare and air conditioning uncommon, making hot weather a big concern for the health of the elderly, disabled and the vulnerable.

So from a fire engineering perspective there is plenty of work going on to develop strategies for us to adapt.

So today we're taking a look at how extreme heat can impact the fire industry.

Another weekend comes and goes. So while you're settling down this Sunday, we've got a bit of an evening read to keep you occupied.

Halo promised some exciting updates in the coming weeks and here we are with "Halo for the NHS".

Most of us understand and appreciate the importance of our NHS. Halo are a family run business, and on a personal level, we've regularly had to fall back on the NHS over the years due to ill health of loved ones. On a working level, we as a business work very closely with multiple NHS sites throughout the country - whether that be hospitals, maternity units or care homes. We see the tireless work our doctors and nurses are performing daily.

With recent strikes and the pressure on the NHS right now, Halo have been keen to come up with a way we can give back and we've devised a plan to produce an NHS charitable fund.

Feel free to take a look at a couple of our blogs via the links below, which outline our plans. We believe over time, we can find ourselves donating some really positive numbers to this revered institution.
