COMMUNITY SAFETY NOTICE – CAR BREAK-INS AND ATTEMPTED BURGLARIES ⚠️

Beechmount Residents Collective / Comhphobal Ard na bhFea would like to bring to the attention of local residents a concerning increase in criminal activity across our communities
During the night, a number of vehicles were broken into, while attempts were also made to gain access to other parked vehicles in the Beechmount, Iveagh and Ard na bhFea areas
We have obtained CCTV footage and an image of an individual who we believe may be connected to these incidents
Although the image is not particularly clear, we are hopeful that someone may be able to provide information that could assist in identifying the individual
Over recent weeks, there has been a worrying increase in reports of vehicle break-ins, attempted house break-ins and suspicious activity throughout the area
Throughout today, members of our Residents Collective have been actively engaging with our community, speaking with local people and listening to their concerns
We have also been contacted by numerous residents from across the area who have raised concerns and shared information regarding recent incidents
The level of concern being expressed by residents highlights the seriousness of the situation and the importance of working collectively to address these issues
These incidents are completely unacceptable
Every resident has the right to feel safe and secure in their own home and within their community
WE ARE APPEALING TO RESIDENTS FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE
Anyone who may recognise the individual pictured, witnessed suspicious activity or has access to CCTV or doorbell footage that could assist is asked to contact us privately as soon as possible
We would also encourage residents to remain vigilant, ensure their homes and vehicles are properly secured, and continue looking out for neighbours, particularly elderly and vulnerable members of our community

We will continue engaging directly with residents, listening to their concerns and doing what we can to support and protect our community
We firmly believe that strong, united and organised communities are essential in tackling the issues affecting our streets
