The shanties have fallen quiet, the buckets have been counted, and Falmouth has just pulled off something its committee reckons is one of the best in 22 years. 🎶⚓

More than ninety singing groups, packed pubs, a heaving harbourside, and a fundraising total for the RNLI that the lifeboat team are still adding up.

There were a couple of new additions this year too, and one of them made getting into town a lot easier.

Two fantastic children's books for Refugee Week.
If you watched Race Across The World recently, wasn't Mongolia an eye opener?
Frank Cottrell Boyce's inimitable humour in The Unforgotten Coat, a magical and witty tale of two brothers, of friendship, of fitting in and the power of storytelling.
We might not get to visit Syria but it's a country full of wonder and No Ballet Shoes in Syria is brilliantly heartfelt, moving and hopeful.
