Tight downstairs WC transformation🚽

This one wasn’t straightforward… the original toilet was sitting miles off the wall because of a fixed soil pipe, so there was no chance of just swapping it out and pushing it back, not to mention the room is TINY.🫣

The concrete floor had to be dug up and the soil pipe moved. To make it better, it was old clay, so that needed adapting over to plastic before bringing it back in tight to the wall to suit the new layout.

Also had to freeze the cold mains coming into the room as there was no isolation point, so had to work around that as well.

First fixed it, left it ready for tiling, then came back to second fix and get everything finished off properly.

One of those jobs where it’s not just fitting, it’s making it work properly from the ground up.

🔎 It’s more common than you think:
* Plate heat exchangers in combi’s clog easily, especially in hard water areas
* Flow sensors can stick or fail, confusing your boiler
* Running multiple taps can starve the boiler of flow and cause shut-off

🛠️ How to check if plumbing is to blame:
1. Run hot tap only – does it go cold after 30 seconds?
2. Check boiler display for flashing fault codes or drops in pressure
3. Try turning on the kitchen tap while the shower’s running – does it cut out?
