Today, colleagues from ICEPRONAV Engineering SRL, part of ICE Marine Design Group, participated in the Job and Internship Fair for Students and Graduates in Galați.

Organised by the Galați County Agency for Employment in collaboration with Dunărea de Jos University of Galați, the event brought together students, graduates and employers.

Our team had the opportunity to meet students and graduates, introduce them to ICEPRONAV's work in ship design and marine engineering, and discuss career development within an international engineering group.

ICE Marine Design will be represented at the DNV Floating Production Leadership Forum in Paris on Tuesday, 13 October, by Dragoș Totolici, Business Development Technical Manager.

Dragoș will join senior representatives from Bluewater Energy Services and Wison for a panel discussion facilitated by DNV's Erik Henriksen.

The forum will bring together offshore industry specialists to discuss project ex*****on, fabrication challenges, operational performance and asset integrity.

These topics are closely connected to ICE's engineering experience in floating production projects.

As part of our 60th anniversary alumni series, we are highlighting former ICEPRONAV Engineering SRL colleagues who have gone on to successful careers across the international marine industry.

Cristian Bran joined ICEPRONAV's Structural Research team in 1992, where he spent ten years developing his expertise in hull structural strength, contributing to research projects and developing software tools for the Hull Design team.

In 2001, Cristian joined Bureau Veritas. He is now Market Leader for Offshore Oil & Gas Floating Units at BV's head office in Paris. He also helped establish the Bureau Veritas Structural Analysis team in Galați with fellow ICEPRONAV alumnus Dr.-Ing. Jean Popovici.

Gastech 2026 is now underway in Bangkok, with ICE Marine Design represented by Chairman Steinar Draegebo and Senior Project Manager Cristian Antache.

During the event, Steinar will moderate the “Pilot Plants & New Technologies” session within the Low Carbon Solutions Technical Programme.

The session will explore carbon capture technologies, including their application within offshore production facilities. It will also consider practical challenges such as limited deck space, equipment weight, vessel motion and integration with existing systems.

These subjects are directly relevant to ICE’s offshore engineering experience. Steinar and Cristian will also use their time at Gastech to meet clients, partners and technical specialists from across the international energy sector.

Safety procedures are most effective when they are understood and practised.

Today, colleagues at ICEPRONAV Engineering SRL took part in a practical fire safety exercise led by our HSSE Expert, Iulia Vasile.

The exercise gave colleagues the opportunity to practise the correct use of fire extinguishers and how to respond safely to an incipient fire.

Practical exercises like this help turn procedures into effective responses. They improve preparedness and reinforce our shared responsibility for a safe, professional working environment. Maintaining that environment supports the people behind the ship and offshore design work we deliver for customers around the world.

ICE Marine Design Group's Business Development Director, Jason Nunn, is attending SMM 2026 in Hamburg this week.

Jason is at the event connecting with customers and industry contacts from across the international maritime sector.

SMM brings together shipowners, shipyards, suppliers and other maritime organisations to discuss current market developments, technologies and future requirements.

As part of our 60th anniversary alumni series, we are highlighting former ICEPRONAV Engineering SRL colleagues who have gone on to successful careers across the international marine industry.

Florin Vicu Răscanu joined ICEPRONAV in 1985 and spent more than twenty years developing his expertise in ship design, engineering and project management.

In 2006, Florin became Managing Director of Marine Engineering SRL in Galați. Under his leadership, the company has grown from around 20 engineers to approximately 220 employees, supporting commercial, luxury yacht and naval shipbuilding projects. He also serves as Vice President of ANCONAV, the Romanian Shipbuilding Association.

Icedesign - An ICEPRONAV Alumnus Helping Grow Romania's Marine Engineering Sector

Three first-year master's students in Naval Architecture have completed a five-week internship at ICEPRONAV Engineering SRL.

During their internship, the students had the opportunity to explore the activities of our Initial Design Department and gain practical experience in a professional ship design environment, with guidance from experienced mentors.

Supporting future naval architects through practical experience provides an opportunity to share knowledge while helping students connect their academic studies with the professional environment.

We wish all three students every success as they continue their studies and future careers.

ICE Marine Design Group recently marked a significant milestone at ICEPRONAV Engineering SRL in Galați, celebrating a 60-year legacy that began in 1966.

Colleagues, former employees and invited guests came together to reflect on six decades of achievement. The celebration recognised the people, projects and partnerships that have shaped this history.

It was an opportunity to reconnect, share memories and celebrate the legacy that continues to shape the future of the wider ICE Marine Design Group.
