The recently completed refurbishment of the historic WWI building, East Boldre Village Hall, helped breathe new life into the social heart of the village.
From the moment we arrived on site, this project has been about far more than construction. Working alongside the Village Hall Committee and the wider community, we've transformed the hall into a modern, welcoming and flexible space that will serve residents for many years to come.
The works included:
β’ Refurbishment of the main hall and historic WWI building
β’ New roofing, insulation and external cladding
β’ Complete internal redecoration and plastering
β’ Refurbished toilet facilities with new plumbing and electrical installations
β’ Installation of a brand-new kitchen
β’ Reconfiguration of internal spaces to create a larger, more versatile hall with significantly increased capacity
A highlight of the project came during the refurbishment when an unexpected piece of the building's history was uncovered. A hidden hatch concealed within the original wall, providing a fascinating glimpse into the hall's past.
We were honoured to welcome Lord Montagu at the start of the project to officially mark the commencement of the refurbishment. It was a pleasure to welcome him back to see the remarkable transformation taking shape and the positive impact the new layout will have for the local community.
We're proud to have played our part in creating a space that will host community events, activities and celebrations for generations to come.
