Bridge (a very long way) over troubled water:
The Huajiang Canyon Bridge in China has been certified by Guinness World Records as the "highest" in the world.
The definition isn't for the height of the steel truss suspension bridge itself - instead it's the distance between the bridge deck and surface of the water below.
A series of measurements have confirmed that the distance between those two points is 626.01 metres, surpassing the previous record of 565.4 metres.
The bridge, which carries the Liuzhi-Anlong Expressway in Guizhou Province, opened to traffic on 28 September. China Railway Baoji Bridge Group Co., Ltd. produced the main truss, main transverse truss, lower horizontal bracing, and bridge deck panels. In total, it produced 93 segments weighing 22,000 tonnes.
The previous record holder was another bridge in China - the Beipanjiang Bridge (also known as the Duge Bridge). It is a cable-stayed bridge crossing the Beipan River on the border of Guizhou and Yunnan provinces and opened in 2016.
