Here it is — the final result of our bespoke garden room and decking project in East Sussex, now fully complete, cleaned down, and looking absolutely flawless.

From start to finish, every detail has been carefully considered and expertly delivered — and we’re proud to showcase the finished space:

✨ A-grade Douglas Fir cladding
✨ Yellow Balau decking with integrated lighting
✨ Black aluminium bifold doors
✨ Exterior spotlights & full electrical fit-out
✨ Painted interior with impact-resistant gym flooring
✨ Custom tree detail in the decking
✨ All built around solid foundations with longevity in mind

This garden room was positioned on a section of back lawn that wasn’t being used to its full potential, separate from the main garden. Now, it’s a stunning and functional space ready for year-round use.

🏁 Garden Room Build – Final Phase Complete!
Our high-spec garden room project in East Sussex is now complete — and it’s packed with quality materials, expert detailing, and serious functionality both inside and out.

Here’s what’s been wrapped up in this final phase:

🔹 Decking Complete with Lighting:
The Yellow Balau decking is now fully laid, complete with integrated decking lights for a clean, modern finish.

🔹 Black Aluminium Bifold Doors Fitted:
Sleek, secure, and built to last — these aluminium bifolds open the space up to the garden beautifully.

🔹 A-Grade Douglas Fir Cladding:
We’ve installed A-grade Douglas Fir cladding around all four elevations, with sharp attention to detail for a refined, uniform look.

🔹 Exterior Spotlights & Second Fix Electrics:
Discreet but effective exterior lighting and full second fix electrics are now complete — inside and out.

🔹 Interior Painted & Floored:
The interior is now fully painted and fitted with a heavy-duty, impact-resistant gym floor — making it the perfect space for fitness, work, or relaxation.

Only thing left to do? A quick clean-up — then it’s ready to be enjoyed 🎉

📦 Garden Room Build – Phase 3: Taking Shape Inside & Out
The transformation continues on this high-spec garden room project in East Sussex — and we’re into the finishing stages of the main structure.

Here’s what’s been completed in Phase 3:

🔹 Insulated & Plastered:
The walls and ceiling are now fully insulated for year-round use, with all first fix electrics installed. Plasterboarding and plastering are complete, creating a smooth, professional finish ready for decorating.

🔹 Decking Framework Complete:
The front decking structure is now fully finished, built to support a hot tub as planned.

🔹 Yellow Balau Decking Laid (Almost):
We’ve nearly finished laying the beautiful Yellow Balau hardwood decking — known for its durability and rich, natural tones.

A standout detail on this phase: a small existing tree has been carefully preserved, with the decking framed around it using a picture frame-style border — allowing space for future growth while adding a unique feature to the space. Precision and care in every cut.

This space is really coming together now — more to come soon as we head into final finishes and external cladding!

🔨 Garden Room Build – Phase 2: Weather-Tight & Ready
Progress continues on this high-end garden room in Sussex! We’ve now moved into Phase 2, and the structure is officially weather-tight 💪

Here’s what’s been completed since our last update:

🔹 EPDM Roof System Installed:
A durable, long-life waterproof roofing membrane is now fully fitted — built to handle the UK weather with no fuss.

🔹 External Wall Sheathing:
All walls are wrapped in 11mm OSB, then layered with Tyvek breather membrane and timber battens — prepped and ready for external cladding.

🔹 Decking Framework Started:
We’ve started the subframe for the front decking area — reinforced specifically to support a hot tub installation later on. Strength, stability, and future-proofing all taken care of.

This space is transforming fast — and we’re proud to share each stage of the journey. Stay tuned for cladding, decking, and interior fit-out in the coming weeks 👀

Here’s a look behind the scenes at the first stages of a premium garden room project we’re constructing from the ground up.

📅 These photos cover Day 1 through to the full framework stage — including the base, flooring, wall structure, and roof setup.

🔹 Base construction:
Engineered with C24 grade 6x2 timbers and supported by oak posts, concreted 1–2 feet deep into a solid soil and sandstone foundation — built to last in all conditions.

🔹 Insulation + Flooring:
We’ve fitted Celotex insulation and moisture-resistant flooring, laying the groundwork for a warm, weatherproof structure that performs year-round.

🔹 Wall & Roof Structure:
The framework is now fully up — precise, strong, and ready for cladding and finishing.

🔹 Drainage Ready:
Roof drainage has already been prepped — with systems in place to handle rainwater runoff efficiently and keep the structure dry and protected long-term.

This garden room is shaping up to be a stunning, functional addition — watch this space for the next stage 👀

We recently completed this 15m² Cumaru hardwood decking at a new build in East Sussex. The brief? To turn a dead strip of grass—where the ground just wouldn’t take due to a gabion retaining wall—into a functional and beautiful outdoor space.

Our solution: a 3m x 3.6m seating area with a smart walkway connecting it to the main patio. Durable, low-maintenance, and built to last, Cumaru was the perfect choice for both aesthetics and practicality.

A recent transformation for a local estate in Horam on a flat above one off their property's. The existing external staircase and handrail had deteriorated due to rot and age, creating safety concerns and an urgent need for replacement.

We carried out a full refurbishment, including:
✅ A completely new timber staircase and handrail, handcrafted to match the original proportions
✅ A replacement balcony handrail, built to mirror the new stair design for a cohesive look
✅ Roof repairs to resolve cracking and water ingress that had caused ongoing damp issues
✅ All works brought up to current building regulations, ensuring long-term safety and compliance

💡 We used traditional mortise and tenon joints to fix the staircase to the newel posts — a time-honoured method that ensures strength, durability, and a clean finish with no visible fixings.
