Just completed a new patio, raised sleeper beds, new steps and a wider drive track for a long time friend and my former Rugby coach Howard Budby over the river in Altofts.
The garden was very unsafe due to subsidence as all the flags were all over the place, manhole raised and wall crumbling away. The steps were loose and not even level. This was all ripped out to a depth of 250mm, heavy duty membrane laid then 125mm of compacted MOT put down. A minimum of 100mm fresh concrete was laid with the new Buff Indian stone laid over.
A new door step was built, then two more leading up towards the mancave at the top of the garden. The old walls were loose and cracking so these were taken out and a new sleeper ‘wall’ put in place.
To the front the two tyre tracks were leaning and not wide enough for exiting the car especially in the winter months. These were levelled up and then some of the old flags from the rear were utilised to make a wider foot path for safe traffic to the house.
All in all a much safer and definately better looking garden with plenty of room for his new patio set, recliner and barbecue.
Will be back in six months to apply two coats of premium acrylic sealer to enhance the colours even further and increase protection from the elements.

Another makeover completed in Stanley.

Uneven path lifted off sand and levelled up then re-laid on full bed of concrete. Old worn out lawn shuttered off and raised,new fresh topsoil and turf over. Finished off with a charcoal paver edging & pointed
