Would you have taken these cupboards all the way to the ceiling? 👀

It’s something we discussed when designing this bespoke utility room.

The ceilings are particularly high, and our customer felt that taking the cabinetry right to the top wouldn’t look quite right.

Instead, we designed the cupboards at a height they were happy with, incorporating plenty of storage and a central bench seat for putting shoes on and taking them off.

We love the finished charcoal grey Shaker cabinetry! 🖤

We’re curious though… would you have gone all the way to the ceiling, or kept them at this height?

This cigar lounge bar in Horbury started with a bare plastered wall and a plan our customer put together himself 🥃

He built a brand-new extension just for his cigar collection. He came to us knowing roughly what he wanted, and Jack surveyed the space and turned the idea into a design that would actually work in the room. That meant building it around the air con, which was already on the wall.

We worked through the design together until every detail was just how he wanted it. He chose open shelving to keep his collection of spirits on show, with the arch as the centrepiece. After seeing samples in our design studio, he settled on a Jacobean oak finish.

What we built:
🪵 Solid oak fluted doors with knurled brass handles
🍷 Built-in openings for two w**e fridges and a cigar humidor
🪞 An arched display with a smoked bronze mirror back panel
🖤 A Nero Marquina quartz worktop
💡 Warm LED lighting on every shelf and along the plinth

Customer: "I've got a ChatGPT picture, can you make it?"
Us: "Leave it with us" 😂

They'd used AI to get their ideas out of their head: colours, style, the general feel. A good starting point, but a picture isn't a plan. So we came out, surveyed the room, designed it properly to scale and built it in our Wakefield workshop.

Solid oak fluted doors made in-house, a curved bottle display with a taller one next to it, smoked glass at the back, two w**e fridges, a humidor for the ci**rs and quartz tops to finish it off.

AI can help you picture it. We can bring it to life.

Hi everyone, I need your honest opinion on this one 👇

You can probably spot the bits sticking out under the doors. This was taken on install day before everything had fully set, and normally I'd hold off and wait for a tidier photo.

But lately I keep scrolling past pictures that are obviously AI. And even the ones that look real have that little AI label from Meta on them. I get that editing photos is nothing new, but it's got me wondering what's actually real anymore.

So I'm asking you: would you rather see real photos, as they are on the day? Or do you still prefer the tidied-up finished shots?

I can promise you this one's real. Made in our workshop in Wakefield and fitted by our team, just snapped a little too early 😅

I'd genuinely love to know what you think, I'll be reading every comment.

Hi 👋 Chloe here. I'm officially back from maternity leave!

As the big boy doesn't start nursery until January, "in the office" is going to look a bit like this for a while — me sat on the floor, laptop open, one hand typing, one hand wrestling a crawling baby 🙈

We've had a good maternity leave, but it's time to step back into the world of JAX Bespoke — me and my mini office helper 🫠 Socials, emails, enquiries, all back on my radar. So get in touch as normal, we'd love to hear from you.
