✨ Pine Parquet Restoration & Extension – Full Transformation ✨

This stunning pine parquet floor has been fully sanded, restored, and brought back to life as part of a complete room transformation.

The floor was carefully sanded back to reveal the natural character of the timber, followed by detailed restoration work throughout. All gaps were filled using Bona Mix & Fill, helping to create a smooth, consistent finish while still keeping the authentic look of the parquet.

A key part of this project was sourcing matching reclaimed pine parquet blocks from a local reclamation yard, which proved to be a perfect match. These were used not only for repairs but also to extend the original flooring, where an internal wall had been removed to combine two separate rooms into one large open-plan living space.

This meant the floor could be seamlessly continued, blending the wood floors so the extension feels completely natural and in keeping with the original design such as keeping the 2 block boarder to a uniformed finish.

Once all preparation and repairs were complete, the floor was finished in Osmo Polyx-Oil (Clear Matt), enhancing the natural warmth of the pine while providing a durable, breathable protective finish.

🫶 LIGHT SAND & REFRESH – BRINGING LIFE BACK TO YOUR WOODEN FLOOR 🫶

This recent job was a great example of what a light sand and maintenance coat can achieve when a floor just needs a refresh rather than a full restoration.

This was an engineered oak plank flooring throughout an Airbnb situated at the top of a mountain – a stunning location that deserved floors to match. We also carried out the same freshen-up process on the stairs and wooden doors, giving the entire space a consistent, clean and revived finish throughout.

We gently sanded the surface to remove light wear, dullness, and everyday marks, before applying a fresh coat of Osmo hard wax oil in clear satin to bring back the natural warmth and protect the timber once again.

Regular maintenance every few years is one of the best ways to keep floors looking their best without needing a full restoration. Over time, foot traffic, luggage, guests, and sunlight all gradually wear down the protective layer. A light sand and re-coat helps to:

These original floorboards have seen generations pass through this building — once a schoolhouse, later transformed into an art museum for over 50 years, and now beginning a new chapter as a forever family home.
