We’re Hiring – Seasonal Outdoor Maintenance Operative 🌿

Due to continued growth and a busy maintenance season ahead, Borders Task Busters are looking for a reliable and experienced Seasonal Outdoor Maintenance Operative to join the team.

This is a hands-on outdoor role focused mainly on regular maintenance work across the Scottish
Borders including:
• Grounds maintenance
• Grass cutting & strimming
• Hedge trimming
• Garden tidy-ups
• General outdoor upkeep
• Property exterior maintenance

📍 Typically 4 days per week
⏰ Around 8 hours per day (workload/weather dependent)

We’re looking for somebody who is:
• Ready to work and experienced in outdoor maintenance
• Reliable, hard-working, and able to work at a good pace
• Confident working independently on maintenance jobs
• Professional and respectful around clients and properties
• Comfortable using outdoor tools and equipment safely
• Able to maintain high standards consistently
• Comfortable working outdoors in typical Scottish weather

Mandatory:
✅ Full UK driving licence
✅ 3+ years driving experience
✅ Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping, or similar outdoor work

This role would suit somebody who already has experience in the industry and can confidently step into day-to-day maintenance work with minimal supervision.

We take pride in the quality of work we carry out and the reputation we’re building locally, so attitude, reliability, and standards matter just as much as experience.

🌿 We’re Hiring – Part-Time Outdoor Maintenance Operative 🌿

Due to continued growth and increasing workload, Borders Task Busters are looking to bring another person into the team on a part-time basis (typically 3 days per week depending on workload).

This is a physically active outdoor role covering garden and grounds maintenance, garden tidy-ups, overgrowth work, outdoor repairs, and general property exterior upkeep across the Scottish Borders.

We’re looking for somebody who:
• Takes pride in their work and attention to detail
• Has excellent timekeeping and reliability
• Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Is willing to learn, develop and improve
• Can work well both independently and as part of a team
• Can be trusted to carry out solo jobs to a high standard
• Is professional and respectful around clients and properties
• Is comfortable working outdoors in all typical weather conditions
• Holds a full clean UK driving licence with 3+ years driving experience (mandatory)

Preferred (but not essential):
• Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping, fencing, outdoor maintenance, or similar hands-on work
• Experience using outdoor power tools and equipment safely.

Experience is valued, but attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are just as important to us.

This role would suit somebody looking to grow with a local business that takes genuine pride in the quality of work carried out and the reputation we’re building locally.

A few recent little garden resets and tidy-ups carried out recently

Not every job needs to be a full transformation to make a noticeable difference. Sometimes it’s simply about bringing a space back under control, freshening things up, and helping somebody enjoy their garden again.

A tidy lawn, edged borders, cleared paths, and a bit of maintenance can completely change the feel of an outdoor space, especially going into the better weather ☀️

It’s also been great seeing so many gardens around the Borders starting to come back to life recently

Another garden refresh completed in Melrose Gait 🌿

After recently sharing one of our Melrose Gait tidy-ups, we were back in the area again today helping another local garden get brought back under control ready for the better weather

This one was a smaller garden reset focused on cutting everything back, tidying the space up, and making it feel cleaner, brighter, and easier to maintain again.

It’s always surprising how much difference a simple tidy-up, fresh cut, edging, and general maintenance can make to the overall feel of a garden.
