A lovely bit of news from last week - planning approval granted for this home, located within an Article 4 area, where permitted development rights don’t apply. 🏡✨

The approved design carefully balances character and modernisation, with:
✔️ A new PV array to the rear
✔️ Garage conversion for additional living space
✔️ Alterations to front and side fenestration for a refreshed exterior
✔️ A new dormer, family bathroom, ensuite, utility, and office/additional bedroom
✔️ A reconfigured open plan living area designed to maximise light and flow

A brilliant result for the clients and a great example of how thoughtful design can enhance and future-proof a family home.

This one now moves into the Building Regulations stage - while a few more exciting approvals are in the pipeline!

🎉 Planning Approval Granted | Great Boughton

A lovely surprise landed today - planning approval granted for our project in Great Boughton! 🏡✨

The design transforms the existing home with:
✔️ A garage conversion for extra living space
✔️ Alterations to enlarge the existing ground floor extension
✔️ First floor reconfiguration for a more functional family bathroom and bedrooms
✔️ A beautiful new master bedroom with its own ensuite and walk in wardrobe

It’s always exciting to see a family home evolve to meet changing needs and even better when planning permission comes through quicker than expected!

This one will move to the Building Regulations stage next week, while I'm also finalising a few other projects for issue over the coming days.

Today I'm proud to share the approval of a thoughtful, family-focused extension designed to support multi-generational living 💛

Working closely with our client, we developed proposals to sensitively extend and adapt a long-standing family home to meet the evolving needs of caring for elderly parents - including safe, step-free access, a ground floor bedroom, and a small balcony space to enjoy peaceful views together.

Despite the challenges, this application was shaped with care, revised collaboratively, and ultimately approved at committee. It’s a win not just for good design, but for independence, dignity, and the importance of home.

I'm pleased to share another approved planning application that was granted earlier this week, this time for a modest, energy-efficient extension that replaces outdated conservatories with a more functional, integrated living space.

Designed with sustainability and practicality in mind, the new extension:

• Reduces the overall footprint by removing and replacing the existing conservatories with a more efficient build

• Seamlessly connects with the existing home to improve layout and flow

• Uses matching materials to preserve character and continuity

• Offers views of the landscape and frames ruins of a nearby castle

• Retains the existing garden’s green feel, with minimal impact on neighbours

This single-storey extension is all about doing more with less - a refined design that upgrades everyday living without overwhelming the plot or streetscape.
