Saturday spent at the Church of St James, Newton.
A heritage building project for , replacing a failing gutter system on the higher elevation of the church. The works included removing the old guttering, installing new 175mm gutters and replacement rafter brackets throughout.
With a building of this age, very little is straight, so the outlet location had to be altered to achieve the correct falls and ensure the new system drains efficiently.
Working on historic buildings always brings its own challenges, but itβs rewarding to help protect these structures for future generations.
