We are pleased to confirm the completion of this project, which included the removal of the main house roof, the garage roof, two bay window roofs, and a porch roof. Upon inspection, we found that all existing felt flat roofs had failed, primarily due to a lack of ventilation and general aging. The main roof had also been compromised, with failing felt and batten, again due to inadequate ventilation. After stripping the old coverings, we installed new roof tiles, battened out to meet current building regulations, and chose ResTec FlexiTec 2020 GRP for the three flat roofs, ensuring a long-lasting, seamless finish. All work has been completed to a high standard, ready for use along with a 20 year warranty ✅

We recently repointed two chimneys, removing all the old mortar to a depth of 30mm. We then re-pointed using a strong 3:1 ratio of building sand, sharp sand, and cement, ensuring a robust finish. Additionally, we installed code 4 lead step flashing and fitted code 5 lead front apron and back gutters, ensuring long-term weatherproofing and durability.

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING FELT ROOF !!! 🤯

Well, where do we even start on this one, During the inspection of the failed flat roof, we identified extensive deterioration across the structure. The deck beneath the roofing felt was severely rotten, with widespread water saturation. This, in turn, significantly compromised the roof deck structure, integrity, and waterproofing. Numerous areas showed the felt to be cracked and blistered, allowing moisture ingress. Further investigation revealed insufficient airflow beneath the deck, likely leading to condensation build-up over the years. Additionally, the roof lacked sufficient fall, resulting in pooling water in several areas. To address these issues, the customer chose to proceed with a full EPDM roof replacement. As the next steps, we incorporated two new falls to the roof to meet building regulations, ensuring a fall of 1 in 40. We also renewed all the flashings using code 4 lead to ensure long-term durability and compliance.

Upon our first inspection we found old felt layer had failed causing a leak into the living time of the property. We had to come up with a solution that would not only last for a long period of time but be practical and durable which will allow the customer to have a space they can enjoy with no leaks in the future. Firstly we started by removing all old existing roof material and removing all the rotten timbers. Secondly we then fitted a new deck, VCL and layer of insulation. Finally of course opted for FLEXITEC 2020 to seal this project in. No product does this kind of job better.
