Thinking about undertaking any DIY work, renovations or construction work on a property over half term? The best way to keep yourself and those around you protected is to have an asbestos survey of the property before work of any kind takes place.

This will make the duty holder and others aware of the accurate locations of asbestos within a building.

Undertaking works as simple as drilling and sanding can cause asbestos fibres to be disturbed and released into the atmosphere. Asbestos can be found in numerous locations throughout domestic and non domestic properties, such as ceilings (including in tiles and some Artex products), bath panels, partition walls and vinyl flooring.

We at The ARG Group provide two types of survey for asbestos containing materials, a non-intrusive management survey and a full intrusive refurbishment/demolition survey. Should higher risk asbestos containing materials be found, we at ARG can conduct efficient, competent and cost effective asbestos removal services.

With inhalation of asbestos causing incurable illnesses such as mesothelioma, it is better to be safe than sorry. Contact us to see how we can help you.

"Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday's success or put its failures behind and start over again. That's the way life is, with a new game every day"

While Bob Feller was discussing baseball here, this is a hugely inspiring quote that reminds us to view every day as an opportunity to learn, grow, excel or start again. If yesterday was hard, it's key to any business to find out why it was hard and how to improve. With improvement comes the opportunity to excel and grow your business through a strong reputation, knowledgeable and passionate staff, and happy customers.

The ARG Group has long term experience in managing, advising and supporting our customers in small to large scale complex surveys, asbestos abatement and management of removal contractors. Focused on equality, confidentiality and impartiality, we deliver thorough and compliant asbestos surveys of all types.

Since being established under new ownership by CBC Ltd in 2010, ARG has continued to build on our achievements by focusing on the development of new innovative ways to provide an increasingly comprehensive, and safe service to our customers.

These progressions in our services enabled ARG to offer customers a range of bespoke services that are tailored to meet the requirements of individual situations.

Should you require a fully certified specialist in the field of asbestos survey and removal, contact The ARG Group. We serve customers in London, Hertfordshire, Ess*x and Kent as well as surrounding areas.

Charles Darwin once said: "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”

ARG Group has been in the business more than 40 years and we believe that our ongoing stellar reputation comes down to adaptability, high quality workmanship and having people on board who wholeheartedly represent our values. In fact, some of the original founder members of the asbestos removal team are still working with us, which offers us valuable experience and expertise that we believe no other asbestos removal company can offer.

Complementing that long term experience is our commitment to adding new services and skills through strategic partnerships, and investing in technology, equipment and the development of our team to ensure we remain ahead of the curve. These strengths mean we can provide bespoke asbestos services and tailored solutions for unique and challenging situations. Our services include UKAS accredited asbestos surveys (both management and refurbishment / demolition), and re-inspections; we also have a UKAS accredited laboratory for asbestos bulk sample analysis, air testing, project management of asbestos removal works, and HSE licensed / unlicensed asbestos removal. For removal works we hold a waste carrier license. We also have an online customer portal so we are available 24/7 – 365 days a year.

All work is professionally carried out, efficiently managing the needs of the client, including tight schedules and out-of-hours working, with professional standards and Health & Safety at its core.

Nobody wants to replace a boiler before they need to, but nobody wants to keep paying for repairs that only buy a little more time either.

The right decision depends on what’s actually going on with your boiler, not on being pushed towards one option.

If a repair makes sense, that’s what we’ll recommend. If replacing the boiler is likely to be the better long-term option, we’ll explain why so you can make the decision with confidence.

⚠️ Urgent recall: Primark Halloween Gonks

Primark is recalling two Halloween gonk decorations because the sand sealed inside them may be contaminated with a small quantity of asbestos.

Asbestos is a banned substance because it poses a health risk even at low levels of exposure.

The recall affects the Witch Mini Gonk (model 991174794) and Pumpkin Gonk (model 991179148).

If you have one of the affected products, stop using it immediately and follow Primark’s instructions for its safe disposal and return.
