After completing the decking, our next task was the astroturf. We started by doing a sub base of MOT Type 1 in the area and then we made it level. Next, we rolled the type 1 out to make sure it is all compacted nicely. Once this was completed, we then laid a w**d control membrane to stop unwanted w**ds and plants growing through. Sharp sand was next. Just like the type 1, we distributed it evenly and made sure it was level. Finally it was time to lay the astroturf! It was rolled out and secured to the border we had made before laying the materials. To complete this we puffed up the astro using a power sweeper.
