JUNE IS MENS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH. 🚹
While conversations around mental health are becoming more common, men are still far less likely to seek help — and the consequences can be devastating.
June is Men’s Mental Health Month, a time to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and remind every man: you don’t have to go it alone.
Why It Matters
🚹 Over 1 in 7 men in the UK experience depression each year.
🚹 Men die by su***de nearly four times more often than women.
🚹 Substance use disorders are more common in men, who often use as a way to cope silently with pain.
These are not just statistics — they represent brothers, sons, fathers, partners, coworkers, and friends.
Breaking the Silence
Society often teaches men to “tough it out” and hide their emotions. But true strength lies in recognizing when you’re struggling and reaching out. Emotional health is just as important as physical health, and there's no shame in seeking support.
Ways to Support Men’s Mental Health 🚹
🚹 Check in with the men in your life — especially the ones who seem “fine.”
🚹 Encourage honest conversations about stress, emotions, and challenges.
🚹 Share resources available in your community, such as mental health hotlines, therapy options, and support groups.
🚹 Use your voice — challenge harmful stereotypes and normalize mental health care.
