What is a HMO property? π€
HMO stands for House of Multiple Occupation.
A HMO is a rented house, shared by multiple people or households π‘
This can consist of one single person, families or cohabiting couples.
There are different types of HMO properties:
1οΈβ£ House or flat shared by three or more people from at least two households with shared communal areas.
2οΈβ£ A home lived in by a landlord as owner-occupier, that has more than two tenants with some shared areas.
3οΈβ£ Privately owned property shared by students who are treated as a separate household, and have exclusive use of accommodation.
