A bespoke garden design created to transform this space into a luxury outdoor retreat, combining modern landscaping with resort-style outdoor living.

This design features a covered hot tub area, statement water feature, living wall, curved porcelain patios, feature steps, contemporary planting, outdoor dining and a dedicated relaxation area — all brought together with carefully considered lighting and detailing.

Every element has been designed around how the garden will actually be used, creating different spaces to relax, entertain and enjoy all year round.

A new chapter for Rafters Landscapes. 🌿

This is something we’ve been looking into for a while, and with the recent expansion of our workforce, we’ve reached the point where a bigger, more professional base is required to support the next stage of Rafters Landscapes.

So, we’re finally taking the leap.

This October, we’ll be moving into our brand-new warehouse, Design & Selection Studio, bringing our operations and client experience together under one roof.

The warehouse will give our growing team a central base, with dedicated space for our machinery, equipment, materials and day-to-day operations.

Alongside this, we’ll be creating a completely new Design & Selection Studio — a dedicated space where clients can sit down with us, review their garden designs and explore paving, decking, fencing, outdoor living products, materials and finishes before their project begins.

This is much more than additional storage. It’s an investment in the infrastructure behind Rafters Landscapes, allowing us to improve efficiency as we grow while creating an even better experience for our clients.

We’ll be starting with an empty unit, so there’s plenty of work ahead to transform it into something that represents the Rafters Landscapes standard.

We can’t wait to share the transformation.

When a client shows us a concept, we deliver. 🌿

Our client came to us with a vision for a real statement piece - a bespoke pergola inspired by a design she’d seen online.

The challenge? It wasn’t an off-the-shelf product, and there was nothing available that incorporated all of the features she wanted.

So, we designed and built it from scratch.

We were the only company able to offer a completely custom-designed and built pergola, tailored specifically to her garden and requirements — with our own addition of an artificial living roof detail to take the design one step further.

From an online inspiration image to a completely bespoke feature built for her garden.

🌿 A garden designed to be experienced, not just looked at.

This latest design brings together multiple outdoor living spaces while keeping the whole garden flowing as one cohesive space.

A raised dining area and timber pergola create the main entertaining area, while a separate decked lounge provides somewhere more relaxed to sit back and unwind.

We’ve then tied everything together with:
• Statement water feature
• Curved pathways and lawn areas
• Layered, architectural planting
• Raised beds
• Pleached screening for additional privacy
• Multiple seating and entertaining zones
• A carefully considered mix of paving, timber and soft landscaping

The aim was to avoid simply dividing the garden into boxes. Instead, each area naturally leads into the next, creating interest as you move through the space.

This is exactly why we believe great landscaping starts with great design. Every level, material, planting area and feature can be considered before construction even begins.

Why does one landscaping quote cost more than another? 🌿

When comparing landscaping quotes, it’s easy to look at the figure at the bottom of the page.

But two quotes for what appears to be the same garden can represent two very different standards of installation.

At Rafters Landscapes, our pricing is built around doing the job properly, not simply finding the cheapest way to achieve the finished look.

🔨 Correct installation methods

We work to manufacturer guidelines and recognised installation methods, from the groundwork underneath your garden to the final finishing details you can see.

The parts you can’t see when the project is finished are often just as important as the parts you can.

📐 Detailed planning

Before we send a quotation, we carefully work through how the garden will actually be constructed.

We calculate the materials, installation requirements and realistic labour time needed to complete the project to the standard we expect.

🏗️ Premium materials

Where appropriate, we specify higher-quality materials and installation products that we trust to perform long term.

Saving money on products that eventually become buried beneath paving, decking or landscaping might reduce the initial quotation, but replacing them later can be considerably more expensive.

🔍 Attention to detail

And then there are the details.

Mitred corners. Consistent joints. Accurate cuts. Clean transitions. Proper falls. Neat drainage. Well-planned lighting. Carefully considered levels and finishing.

Some of these details take considerably longer to produce, but they’re also what separate an average installation from a professionally finished garden.

So, are we always going to be the cheapest quotation? No.

Our objective isn’t to be the cheapest.

It’s to provide a properly designed, correctly installed garden where quality hasn’t been compromised simply to reach a lower price.

A huge 150m² of composite decking removed and completely replaced by the Rafters Landscapes team after our client’s previous decking installation failed after just 2 years.

With a project of this scale, getting the foundations, framework and detailing right is critical. Every aspect of the new installation has been carefully planned and built with longevity in mind — from the framework beneath to the clean lines and finishing details you see on top.
