A new pair of secateurs arrived this week.

Potting a rose this morning I got on my recent visit to David Austin Roses in Jan, to add to my rose collection 🌹

Dug a deep hole so the top of the rose is flush with the soil level. Adding root grow to assist development, back filling with manure and a good watering.

Turned out to be a lovely sunny day today and achieved some great results from a bit of w**ding and lawn edging.

I really enjoyed today. A nice bit of variety, with great results!

- edged around the plum tree where the grass wasn’t growing (nutrients being sucked away by the tree) and planted some primrose bedding plants

- removed a cordyline which didn’t make it through the frost and planted a couple of dwarf evergreen shrubs, then added a thick layer of bark to suppress w**ds

- pruned a clematis

- and finally removed some dead bedding plants from pots and planted up some more dwarf evergreen shrubs
