Day 1 is only halfway through, and it’s already been fantastic!😃

We’re open until 5PM, so there’s still plenty of time to come down, check out our machinery, and join in with the demos. The fridges are fully stocked with beer and refreshments, and our team is ready to welcome you all day long.

We’ve been working closely with our new partner, Nisula Forest Oy , to develop some exciting new equipment.
Our latest build features a Kobelco 14‑ton excavator paired with a Nisula 555H head and a telescopic boom, delivering both reach and versatility in demanding forestry applications.
In addition, we’ve introduced a powerful new setup: the Valtra T235 Active, fully equipped with JAKE Finland Oy Forestry guarding, axle stabilisation, an FTG Moheda M81DT, and a Nisula 325H head — a truly formidable combination in the field.
We also have a Nisula 425H head available for stock display.
A key design focus across all units has been true multifunctionality. The aim is to ensure operators can use the Kobelco just like a standard excavator, and the Valtra/FTG Moheda combination as a conventional tractor and crane setup. This allows for quick, seamless transitions between a wide range of forestry tasks, maximising efficiency and productivity on site.

Unfortunately the Valtra-Nisula combination has missed our May Open Days, but will be here for future shows and events.

We will be running nearly the complete range of Heizomat - Gerätebau + Energiesysteme GmbH Heizohack wood chippers at our Open days, slightly different layout this year with chippers in the wood giving a better view to visitors. Chipping all sorts including ;- brash, arb logs/rings, cone split oversize and softwood bars. All chip will be used in our biomass heating system

Open Day set up progressing nicely
This year we will be showing the new Nisula Forest Harvester Heads, We have installed a 555H head with telescopic boom to our Kobelco 14 ton excavator. We also have some of the smaller heads.
A fresh brew of our Famous Log Goblin beer has arrived just in time.
In true Fuelwood style we will have as many of the machines working lifting, cutting loading, producing firewood and biomass wood chip as possible.
Open days are next week Thursday to Sunday 21st – 24th May.

Our first project from the New Assembly Workshops.

Nearly 40 years ago, Richard Slatem established the Claywood site, supplying forestry and firewood machinery from a central UK location. Building the facilities himself while launching a new business remains an inspiring achievement to this day.
Fuelwood has always been more than a machinery supplier and service provider. From the beginning, we have designed and manufactured specialised equipment tailored to the needs of UK customers. Today, these machines are recognised as market leaders—not only across the UK, but worldwide.
