How time flies, managed to get as far as the semi finals again - I guess that shows consistency.
Note to self : must share more examples of my work :-)

May not have made it to the finals, but was one of approx 30 out of 2500 applicants - to get through to the semi-finals!
That in itself, is i believe an achievement on the 1st attempt - so roll on 2022.

Always up for a challenge, subject to constraints (think it should be painted), have been tasked to make something of these doors. These are on an old farm house, and were sand blasted around 18 - 24 months ago to remove the old paintwork.
Let's hope that anything I do, will be an improvement!

Another 'bespoke' desk, replacing a small free standing desk and bedside cabinet.
Desk made from two 18mm sheets of plywood, with a small in-built recess accessible from the bed - with a small cable tidy to accommodate a charging cable.
This is certainly the way to go, now that more people are working from home!
Feedback from the new tenant, was good to hear :-)

Another bespoke desk, and shelves - shaped to make the most of an alcove in a bedroom. Desk made from two sheets of 18mm ply, resting on a batten along three sides. Shelves were made from a single sheet of 18mm ply.

A few before & after's, of a recent disabled toilet refit at the local Carpenders Park Community Hall making use of Victoria Plum Orchard Grey Marble shower wall panels.
Still awaiting installation of a wireless alarm cord, and a mirror - but a marked difference to what was there before!

Although the colour may not be quite what I'd go with, thought I'd share a view of the underside of a recent window cill I caught sight of - during the course of doing some seperate work. Aside from the painter simply painting over what seems to be several layers of paint with no real effort apparantly to sand this smooth - they don't even cut this into the join with the wall to complete the job!

What with more people working from home these days, have been tasked to create & install bespoke desks and shelving in a local HMO (House of Multiple Occupancy).
Although not quite my choice of materials, these were made from 2 layers of 12mm plywood (as requested by landlord) - and finished with two coats of varnish.

Underfloor heating may well be the way to go, but where you put the manifolds is often overlooked! Here I've managed to hide them in the back of a series of floor to ceiling storage cupboards (from Ikea). Just adding a false back (secured by magnetic catches), to help protect the system from accidental damage.

As an aside, did come across an issue that strikes fear in most - the sight of cracks! This is a crack that was very visible on the exterior of a garage, however it fortunately didn't extend beyond the depth of the DPC.
Should add that the view from the inside was more horrendous from the inside, however the crack didn't extend beyond the DPC so thankfully not an issue with the foundations. Still not for the faint hearted, as major stiching required to insure integrity of brickwork.

Ok following on from a previous post in November 2020, an update on the issue around the blown rendering on the garage. As previously reported, it would seem that the render has enabled moisture to travel up behind the render (noticible via the hollow sound on tapping the surface of the render) below the DPC course.
The only option is simply to chip off the blown render, and in this case a further 100mm past the established DPC in order to install a pro- forma galvanised trim - which has since been rendered.
So far so good, with the lower brickwork due to be treated with a coat of bitumen paint - given that this will due to be hidden by another structure (being built to rear of garage structure).

An update on a previous post, showing the current patio progress. The current winter conditions are still impacting on this, so still a work in progress - albeit that the clients are still working on the final details!
Looking at planters, built in seating areas, stepped access to garden and BBQ area - so promises to be impressive.
