I have tried to write this a few times but I am finding it hard to put into words.
RTM SERVICES started in 2013 from a push from my then beautiful girlfriend and now my wife, Deni. From the start there has been people who have supported me and to them I am eternally grateful for helping me grow my business. There are too many to mention but you know who you are. Much love.
There have been so many ups compared to the downs which is rare I personally think for a company, in nearly 13 years I have not had any comebacks, after sales or disputes which I am so proud of.
People have joined and left the company and I truly believed the last few years before COVID were the busiest and most happiest of my working life.
Plastering is a young man’s game and for me I can not see me plastering at 70 years old. Since COVID I have been working by myself with the odd helper here or there. It’s made me realise that I am one of the lucky ones, lucky as most of the people in the trade are broken with ailments from the physical stress it puts on the body.
I always make sure I leave my clients with a professional quality job, but lately maybe the last year or so I have missed working in a team and felt there is more out there for me.
I now have a opportunity to work for one of the leading damp proofing and retrofit companies in the south west. I will be hanging up my tools and will become a surveyor in damp and infrared thermography.
Retrofit is the new logical step to energy efficiency within buildings and I am excited to be apart of it.
I say I will hang up my tools but will always be around for weekend work and won’t be closing down the company fully.
This is a new chapter of my life and a journey I am looking forward to, I have always looked to better myself with further knowledge and education.
So thank you all once again
It’s not good bye but see you soon x
