Tulips at Bluebell Farm 🌷The galvanised troughs work well - matching the Lindab guttering and setting off our dark blue barn. We had lots of fun in the autumn choosing our bulbs for Annie's wedding flowers 🌺

🍐 Created in 2018 and getting there in 2023! The garden is helped along by Winrow Nurseries - this year the hedge surrounding the patios was planted, last year the red robin hedge 🌱 The horn beam trees were the first to go in in 2018 with the William’s pear tree 🍐

Yesterday, we took a trip to the Quantocks from Bluebell Farm and it was absolutely beautiful! The wide ranging views were breathtaking, the walk through the woods was peaceful, and seeing the wild ponies grazing was a true highlight. We had a lovely time and can't wait to go back again!

🌾 Beautiful flowers from in Bristol arranged in our vintage vases. The little green bottle was found during our build here at Bluebell Farm and we’d love to know it’s history! It has a little glass stopper and it’s all still pretty perfect. We can’t wait to pop these into our cottages for our guests this weekend 🌾

What an amazing week! The lavender here at Bluebell Farm is flourishing in the sunshine 🌿 After four years the garden is looking established and the hard work we put into the hard landscaping at the end of the build is paying off 🌹

Our ground working team put in our driveway during the build and replanted all of the grass once the ground source heat pump piping was installed in the field. The roundabout is a winner and the meandering drive works well 🌺

🌿🌱🍃Alliums, fox gloves, bluebells and box hedging are the flavour of the month in our roundabout at Bluebell Farm! When we created our home from our barns here in Somerset, our planning was for us to change from ‘agricultural building to dwelling’. As part of this we couldn’t change the shape or height of our barns, and we had to dig down another foot to enable us to have a second story in the big barn, to house our master bedroom, bathroom and (the hub of the house!) the laundry room. To do this our ground workers told us that we needed a set of sky hooks to suspend the frame while we welded on extra steelwork. (Yes, I did ask!! 🤔😳🤣) Instead of the sky hooks we suspended one side of the frame whilst working on the other, and we got there. Our barn ended up in a bit of a dip, but the lie of the land meant that we could ‘push back’ the earth about 15m and then have a small rise, now bordered with old railway sleepers. Our roundabout was formed as part of this manoeuvring, and it gives us great pleasure each year when it springs to life 🌿🌱🍃
