Double R is developing a multi-skilled workforce to ensure we continue to deliver the very best sealed units for customers.
As part of a new training programme at Double R, we are now moving employees around the factory more often, which means more employees are trained in more elements of the production process, resulting in a further improved multi-skilled workforce.
As well as upskilling employees, this also gives us more flexibility day to day.
This new approach to training has boosted morale and improved job satisfaction as staff progress through the programme.
Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to the problem of a skills shortage negatively impacting on UK productivity. However, suppliers that are employing a people first culture and are utilising effective training programmes to boost morale and in turn productivity, will cope a lot better than those burying their heads in the sand.
