Every part of a garden should feel like it belongs. 🌿

This project formed part of a complete garden transformation, with each feature carefully designed to complement the others. From the flowing lawn and low-maintenance gravel garden to the curved edging and existing trees, every element was planned to create a garden that feels cohesive, practical and timeless.

We began by improving the soil with generous amounts of organic matter before carefully levelling and shaping the ground. Fresh turf was then laid to create a lush new lawn, while the gravel garden provides an attractive, low-maintenance space beneath the mature trees.
It's a great example of how thoughtful design, quality materials and careful craftsmanship can completely transform an outdoor space.

Defining spaces with edging.

Garden edging might seem like a small detail, but it can make a huge difference to how a garden looks and functions.
There are lots of ways to define lawns, borders and pathways. Corten steel is one of our most popular options as it's durable, flexible and develops a beautiful rusted finish over time. However, wood edging and hand-built stone borders can look fantastic too, each bringing their own character to a garden.

This garden features all three. Corten steel creates crisp curves around the lawn, bespoke timber edging helps define the planting areas, and a hand-built boulder border softens the transition between lawn and beds. Each stone was individually selected and positioned by hand, creating a border with plenty of character and a softer, more organic feel than a formal edge.
Using a combination of materials adds texture, interest and personality, while helping different areas of the garden flow naturally into one another.
Sometimes it's the smaller details that make the biggest difference. 🌿

A simple but really effective raised planter completed recently here in Wells.

We built the timber planter from scratch, lined it, filled it with fresh soil & compost, planted it up with a cat friendly planting scheme and finished everything with a generous mulch layer to help retain moisture and keep maintenance down.

The idea was to create something soft, natural and calming that will establish beautifully over time while still being practical and family friendly. The raised structure also helps bring the planting up into view and creates a really clean, defined feature within the garden.

We’re looking forward to seeing this one fill out over the coming seasons.

There’s something really satisfying about bringing structure and purpose into a garden with well-built planters. We’ve created a range of bespoke planters for customers across Wells and the surrounding area. Some are designed to make the most of awkward or unused spaces, others are simply there to frame a garden, grow produce, or add another layer of interest and depth.

When they’re done properly, they don’t feel like an add-on. They feel like they’ve always belonged.

A little update of a transformation taking shape here in Wells.

This is a garden built properly from the ground up. The old turf was stripped out, the soil dug over and improved with organic matter, then carefully levelled and left to settle before being levelled again and bringing in fresh soil for a clean final grade ahead of laying. It’s this attention to what sits beneath that gives you a lawn that actually lasts.

The curve makes the space. Strong, flowing and deliberate. Natural stone anchors one side into the garden, while corten steel sweeps around the rest, holding those lines clean and controlled.

Finished with Rolawn turf and a sprinkler system now in place to support strong establishment.

Already looking sharp, and it will only get better with time.

It’s amazing what a bit of light can do to a space.

A recent update from an ongoing garden build just outside of Wells.

We’ve introduced a low maintenance gravel garden using locally sourced stone to help lift and brighten this shaded garden area.

Curved corten steel edging brings gentle structure and flow, creating a space that feels calm, natural and easy to live with.

More to follow as the project continues.

One of the smallest signs that spring is returning.
Ladybirds are beginning to emerge after winter, often appearing on the first warmer days of the year.
Not only are they a cheerful sight in the garden, they’re also one of nature’s best pest controllers, feeding on aphids and helping keep plants healthy.
A tiny visitor, but an important part of the life of a garden. 🐞

A recently completed installation here in Wells, where we fitted a Jacksons bin store to provide a tidy and well-integrated storage solution.
Constructed from treated softwood and backed by Jacksons’ 25-year guarantee against rot, it offers long-term durability while keeping bins and recycling neatly contained.
The store sits on a hand-built decked base, carefully constructed to provide a solid, level foundation while lifting the structure slightly clear of the ground for longevity.
Framed by a simple gravel surround and set neatly against the house, the result is a practical feature that quietly improves the appearance of the space while keeping everything organised and protected from the wind.
A thoughtful addition that helps the front of the home feel cleaner, calmer and more considered.
