Nesting season is here β what you need to know
Many birds choose chimneys as safe places to raise their young. Under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981, active nests are protected by law. Removing or disturbing them is illegal.
It happens more often than you think! From March to August, birds love using warm chimneys as nesting spots.
π Signs to look for:
β’ Birds flying in/out
β’ Twigs/moss falling into the fireplace
β’ Chirping sounds from above
β οΈ Important: Never light a fire if you think there is a nest β it can cause harm to birds and damage your chimney.
We will inspect, advise, and rebook your sweep once the nesting period ends. We also install bird guards to prevent future issues.
