This handsome antique armchair is used in a conservatory and has had a dramatic botanical makeover!

The arms were disintegrating under the fabric, so these were stripped off to the frame and rebuilt.

The pale green double piping finishes it off really well around the edges.

Wow, I've just realised I haven't posted since March and I've no idea where the time has gone!

I've been working on some of my own furniture and some challenging chairs - pics will follow - but for now here's a set of custom made single headboards I've just finished, covered in gorgeous Guy Goodfellow fabric: Cothay Stripe in Indigo.

I knew this Italian antique camel-back sofa had great potential when it was sent my way. It had been badly patched up and loosely covered in white cotton and acres of braid, with the original leather and brass nails left on the arm facings.

After removing all the old coverings and rebuilding the arms from the frame-up, it's now looking very smart in Guy Goodfellow's Kintbury Stripe in Campari. I love the red and pink together!

Here's one of the little projects that I like to squeeze in for my regular clients around bigger projects, or on a day when I have the odd hour to work around non-upholstery things.

I really love this luxurious red chenille "Turfan" fabric from Nina Campbell. A gorgeous pop of of colour when the skies are so grey.

Very pleased to have had the chance to give this antique balloon- back dining chair a new lease of life. The seat was completely rebuilt using traditional materials and methods, and covered in a lovely green wool.

An interesting piece, as I don't think it had an upholstered back originally. Looks like someone went to a lot of trouble to make a frame insert at a later date, screwed in from underneath.

I love the transformation of this delicate little pinstuffed chair. I've worked with Blendworth's gorgeous Jaipur fabric several times now and this yellow, blue & green colourway really pops against the wood. My client was glad she went with something a little bolder than she'd originally envisaged 😀

This Parker Knoll model 733 came to me with all its original coverings and fillings. The foam had turned to crumb and everything needed replacing except the springs which were still going strong.

Now looking very sharp covered in Linwood's Lundy fabric in "Lagoon".

"Don't bleed on the chair, don't bleed on the chair...."

That was my mantra while working with an off-white cut velvet on this iron-back and constantly pricking my fingers. (Every stage of the back is sewn on by hand, as of course you can't tack into it).

Naturally, I got a tiny, weeny drop of blood on an arm and had to re-do it. (Note: blood can normally be neutralised by saliva, but it didn't work with this one ).

I did warn its owner not to drink red wine on it.
