This job was for a de-scale of 32m of Vitrified Clay pipe, between two internal Inspection Chambers that had heavy scale encrustations throughout the 32m. This was causing repeat blockages in this busy factory. We used a combination of HPW Jetting and a cable machine with 1” cables. Predominantly using a Warthog spinner nozzle and a cable machine with a flail end. This was effective in removing the scale encrustations. All loose scale was successfully removed via HPW Jetting. A CCTV Survey once the mechanical clearance and HPW Jetting was complete, revealed the pipe was clear.

At this business, we had to gain access to an Inspection Chamber in the middle of a busy machine room. The IC had been completely sealed within the resin floor by contractors. It was critical to prevent dust or vapour entering this machine room.
Once access was gained, we used a Pearpoint P540c camera system, which established that there was 25% sectional loss due to heavy scale encrustations.

This job had a failed Vitrified Clay P-trap gully. There was a large hole in the side of the hopper. Whilst excavating, we found that the outlet of the Aco gullies had been “joined” into the hole with above-ground 2½” RWP (gutter downpipe), but not actually connected... We installed a new bottle gully, the original surround, waterproofed all cement and made good the wonky block pavers.

We installed a new gully at this property, to take the waste from a new kitchen; linking to the existing combined (FW & SW) drain. We cleared & re-instated a disused Inspection Chamber & gully. At the customer’s request, we left a capped connection for a gully on a future extension. Surface re-instatement as found, except we levelled out and re-installed the patio that was sitting originally on just soil. Proper sub base, with cement / marine sand bed for the pavers.

At this property, the old cast iron cover had broken and fallen into the Inspection Chamber. A replacement galvanized cover had been put on top. It was too small and rated only 2.5 tonne.

2.5 tonne is ok for a pedestrian area, but this was on a driveway, so we installed a 10 tonne rated cover and frame (£3 difference between 5 & 10T). Waterproofed cement. A simple but urgent job.

This job had major issues with the lawn being waterlogged. The existing gully 2½” outlet pipes were collapsed... After a percolation test, we installed a new 4” installation, consisting of new gullies leading to a new Soakaway installation. Pukka.

Often in Drainage we come across blockages that can not be cleared with rods or HPW Jetting. These are usually internal issues, where eg. small diameter waste pipework serving sinks, baths, showers has become blocked. This is usually from scale build-up over the years. These can be cleared using Cable Machines, as pictured. Pukka Drains have both small and large Cable Machines, for clearance of up to 6” (150mm) pipes.
